Hello,

I have been vaping the cheap ecigs for a while and recently got a 510 and now in wait for it to get here. I have been using the cheap OTC cartomizers you get from smoke shops and was wondering if the cartomizers you get online are any better or last longer? My order was placed on the 510-T but i can easily use a cartomizer or another sort of addon associated with the 510 that uses the same voltage. I'm trying to find what will last me the longest without absorption problems or burning problems because with the cartomizers i have been using i'd have those exact problems, either it will stop absorbing or it will burn. either way after a little while of refilling they'd taste gross and i toss em. I'm very much a penny pincher when it comes to vaping and really want a while of vaping but cant spend a bit on them, currently im paying 15$ for a pack of 5 cartomizers and they will generally last me a month and then i need to buy another pack which along with eliquid has just gotten too pricey. So in a long winded way of asking, my question is, which lasts the longest? I use vg - pg and mixes and such so i need a cartomizer or tank or clearomizer that can handle mixes and such. I have been vaping the cheapies for more than 4-5 months and am tired of the cheap stuff. at any rate I have not tried a tank or a clearomizer so please let me know which lasts the longest with a 510 :)

I am fairly new myself, and im sure others will chime in.

I have spent my fair share since i have started vaping. But I havent tried it all, yet, lol.

Out of the things I have tried I am having some pretty good luck with the Boge 510 low resist cartos. I am unfamiliar with the brand of cartos you have been using but the Boges come in packs of 5 for around $8 a pack. I have used them with various mixes of pg/vg, and 100% variations of pg or vg. And so far they seem to work great with anything I have tried in them. Even some of the e-juces that people claim that are "hard to work with", example being Boba's Bounty (loving that stuff by the way :D).

I have picked up some new things locally here lately and the boges are still working the best for me so far.

Im waiting for my J-tanks to come in and I am sure they will work fine seeing as how I recently picked up a couple of smoktek dual coil tanks. and they work great for keeping juice in the carto so they dont dry out, and I dont have to drip fill every so often while using them.

The carto tank seems to work great, but I wasnt all that impressed with the smoktek dual coil thus far. The boge lr offered more flavor and vapor for me, but I am still using ego 650mah batteries. Like I said, im still learning here too lol.

I am currently vaping my BB carto that I have had in use for almost 2 weeks now, same carto. I will probly toss it soon and start a nice fresh one.

Not sure they recommend the Low resist cartos on standard 510 batteries, but the do make standard resistance that should work fine. (from what ive been reading around forums anyway).

Clearomizers I have not tried, but I can see wicking problems so personally I will probly stay away from those.

If you ever plan on upgrading from the 510, stay away from ego tank styles. I have had nothing but problems with mine. Thus the reason I went to cartomizers, and I wont go back to those style again!

J-tanks dude. The best n cheapest reliable tank. Fit that with a low resistance atty n u are good to go.

Waiting for my fluxomizers from GotVape.com, reviews from GrimmGreen at YouTube seems positive.

Sadly, after looking at reviews of Micromizer: will light LED when u vape. Im kinda disheartened by it. They say it leaks big time. Shucks.. Wasted buying that one: crossing fingers the ones that will be shipped to me are of the better batches lot.

Well I the only tanks I've used are blank tanks (you need a tankomizer with them), I'm not impressed, they mute the flavor way too much for my taste. The only think I think they're good for is making bad tasting liquid vapeable, which hey, is a very useful thing I suppose bahahaha.

Other than that, clearomizers I've heard good thins about, just that they can be a tad fragile, so watch out for that. They are plastic after all. Cartomizers, you'll need to specify what you mean. There are two types of cartomizers, polyfill and resevoire. Polyfil are filled with cotton or the like. Very easy to fill, very easy to use. I highly recommend. The resevoir type, much harder to fill and use. I've been having trouble with mine leaking, burnt taste, that sort of thing. But if you can get them to work, in my humble opinion, the taste is just as good as dripping.

you attach a j-tank to a cartomizer, and not an atty. But tanks are a great option, because if you want to save money, they help extend the life of your cartomizer, by ensuring it is constantly wet. It might look a little funny on your 510, but then you're only problem will be re-charging your batteries, more then your cartos.

You can get 1 or 2 decent tanks for a fair price, and then get a saddle valve at home depot for 7 bucks, to punch the cartos you have (Just remember to veeeeeerrrrrryyyy slowly and carefully peel off the carto stickers). Also do NOT use anything that is low resistence for your 510 battery. The 510 battery is to small of a battery and you might ruin it. Stick to standard resistence 2.7-3.0 ohms

So to recap tanks extent the life of your cartos so are a solid investment. You only need to buy 1 saddle valve, and a blunt tip syringe:

Cartos: 7 bucks a pack
Blunt-tip syringe: 1.25$
Saddle valve from Home Depot: 7$

Now with cheap tanks, some pretty good options are:

J-tank (20$): A little pricey, but a good tank (electronicstix)
Submarine (3ml) tank (12.95): I'm really looking forward to trying this one. You need a needle to fill it, but you also have a vent hole, which is a very good feature. (Mom and pops vapor)
Chibi Tank (5$): Very inexpensive tank, but you need to learn how to fill it with a syringe (Parkesvaping)

I think the submarine tank would be a good place to start.

I have a question for you. Are you a major penny pencher for short term gain, or in the long run? The reason I ask this, is you can get your atties at pennies a time, if done properly. The answer to how is the genesis atty.

Granted the "start-up" cost is a little high, but after the long term, it cost's mere pennies to change out your atty.

Well you can't buy it pre-built, but you can buy it in the form of the parts. You need a "mod," some stainless steel sheets, and kanthal wire. Check out the "All my mods, part one" thread for all related info. Also check out the classified section of this forum to get a mod.

Be warned though, the above thread is a long read. More related info you can find under the modders sub-forum. Any questions you have you can ask here or you can just me via private messaging.

Im not sure why people are recommending LR cartos, but slim ecigs, like the 510 you have, can only use standard resistance attys/cartos. Low resistance cartos are only for bigger battery PVs. Using LR cartos on your slim ecig will likely damage the battery.

I recommend getting some Boge 3.0ohm cartos. The 2.0ohm Boges are low resistance, so youll need to use the standard resistance 3.0ohm Boges. Boges give a great vape and are quality cartos.
Or you could use a standard resistance Smoktech carto. Smoktech cartos have a more loosely wrapped filler and I find they work alittle better with thick VG juices. Boge cartos do work with thick VG juices, but some VG juices take alittle longer to settle/soak into the filler bc Boge cartos have a tightly wrapped filler. So I would try some standard resistance SMoktech cartos or some Boge 3.0ohm cartos and I think youlll like them a lot more than the cartos your using now, and they will work well on your slim ecig

My two cents:

I have really been enjoying tjhe 1.5 ohm XL DC cartos from Alien Visions. Noticed them when I was re-loading my Boba's order. They are cheap, hold a ton of juice, and play very well with my Ego pass-through. I am about to receive my J-tank, and ordered 5 pre-punched Boges so i can get started right away, but will definitely get that saddle valve and start drilling my own.

Oh yeah, I know some people love the CE-3 clearomizers, but I can't vape 'm too long without getting a burnt taste...I even pre-fluffed the wicks, but they just didn't work for me. I figure between the ginormous AVE-branded cartos, and the J-tank, I should be good to go.
