I was looking to try out the clearomizers to go on my Ego twist but I also seen that have mini nano clearomizers. I have no desire to try a tank system right now but I was wondering if clearomizers are any good. Im on cartridges right now but would love to be able to see how much juice I have left.

What are some good brands and can they handle a higher voltage?

Thanks!

Hi! Clearos can be finicky little critters - people seem to either love them or hate them. They are inexpensive and mass-produced, so the quality can be inconsistent. I like them because of the cost ($3-$5) and the size. I rotate several of them with different flavors inside. I have mini vivi novas, which are similar and many people prefer, but I only have two, so switching flavors can be a hassle. Vision is the name brand (rebranded "Stardust" by gotvapes), but I've found many of the clones to work just as well. I got some "Sunrise" clones from ECBLend (I tend to get a couple when I order juice) and they work fine. Smoke Revolt currently has clones on sale for $2.99. In all, they're cheaper than a pack of cigarettes, so if they only work for a week, I don't have a problem with it. ;)

Ah, the clearo. Sometimes good, mostly bad. I would never tell someone not to buy something if it's working for them, but I find a lot of people leave frustrated with clearos and ditch them altogether.

If they work for you, good! :) If not, you may want to look into carto tanks. I hesitate calling them DCT tanks because you don't need dual coil cartomizers for them. But it seems a lot of the clearomizer fans end up with the Vision ViVi Nova. Many swear by them, but I'm not a fan, alas. But you might try looking into those if you prefer clearos.

If you want to try a clearo with a good rep i suggest the Kanger t-2 or 3 I like the T2's. if not using them I will fall back to a vivi nova mini.
cept for that VISION makes the best clearo's

but be aware as is stated you dont think you will like a tank. a clearo IS a tank, just smaller and more streamlined, in actuality except for cartomizer tanks, most wick tanks are just oversized clearo's, that actually work like most clearo's are supposed too.

Ok this is probably a stupid question so don't thrash me too bad LOL! Im assuming since mizer is in the name that the atomizer is built into a clearomizer and I wouldn't need a seperate one? Im am still veryyy new to this and just won't to make sure I order everything I need.

And exactly what kind of equipment would I need a atomizer for?

Thanks!

Atomizers were one of the first devices that were used on ecig batteries. Originally you put a cartridge that contained a small amount of filler soaked with juice into the end of atomizer and the juice wicked into it. Didn't work all that great. So people started dripping their liquid directly into the atomizer, rather than let it wick. Much better vapor and flavor. This is the way most people use an atomizer now.

Not to be confused with the rebuildable atomizers, which contain a coil and wicking material in the base that are dripped into or they have a tank reservoir with a wick and coil.

I think that for a stardust shaped device, the kanger t3 is pretty BA. I have been using them for about a week and using the advice I read on reddit about flipping the rubber seal between the atomizer part and the top, have not got a dry hit even with heavy vaping. I first started out with the clearomizers with long wicks that did not come apart, and was not happy with them. I liked being able to easily take apart and clean them, like I can with the Kangers and vivi nova tanks. Hope this helps.

You are exactly right, Cocacola.

An atomizer can come in several forms. If you "drip" (a whole 'nother schebang), you will use an atomizer exclusively. It looks like this http://www.ecigsunlimited.com/images/Atomizer- e-Cig 510- EC510.jpg. Inside you will see a metal "bridge" above a white plastic base.

If you use a clearo, the atomizer is basically a metal coil wrapped around a wick.

The atomizers for 510 or Joyetech Ecigs and Volts are slightly different, but I doubt you'll deal with those. If you do, that's cool, too.

Actually, those early style Stardust could be taken apart and rebuilt - it just wasn't all that easy to do. I used to rebuild them all the time until the T2's came out, then I rebuilt them because they were easier and, I think, work better. i just bought a couple T3's and when they need it I will be rebuilding those too.

as far as I know...

Atomizer - Device you drip juice directly into then vape

Cartomizer - An atomizer in a cartridge containing filler for wicking and juice. Can't see how much juice you have left.

Clearomizer - An atmoizer in a clear or opaque tank that uses, quite literally a wicking system (i.e. there are wicks and you can clearly see them). On the clear tanks you CAN see how much juice you have left.

Carto-tanks - A cartomizer in a tank. Like a regular cartomizer, but with holes punched in it to leech the juice from the tank it sits inside of. Tanks are usually clear so you CAN see how much juice you have left.

For carto-tanks you can get "blank" cartomizers, meaning they have no juice in them. You can also find them pre-punched, or get a hole puncher for them.

Clearomizers are designed to work right out of the box, but as some of us have found your results may vary. Many clearos feature replaceable heads.. meaning when the atomizer coil is burned out or badly gunked up (burnt taste), you replace the whole head, which has the coil and the wicks.
Some clearos have "rebuildable" heads, meaning if you have a little DIY spirit, you can buy the wire that makes up the coils, some wicking material and "roll your own" heads and do it on the cheap.

For carto tanks, when the thing starts tasting burnt or quits firing, you simply replace the cartomizer. Carto tanks can have better flavor or vapor than the clearos, and bigger tank capacity, but there's no "rebuilding" them.

Hope that helps.

*edit* Also, I am a slow typer :(
