I wish I could find the article again, but when I was first researching ecigs there was an article about a time when the ecig was brought before the FDA. They did a "short" trial. They took people who smoked analogs and then tested there pee for contaminates. Obviously there were alot of contaminates from smoking analogs. Then they gave this same group the ecig and asked them to just use the ecig. Again they called the group in and did a pee test and found that the original contaminates from smoking analogs was gone. They then had those same people go back to smoking analogs and rested and of course found the contaminates had come back. Of course they refused to "approve" the ecig but they also stated that it appeared to be a better alternative to smoking analogs and sent the ecig on it's way.

Guess once tax money came into question they decided to take another look at their position. Just goes to show that politics sucks.

Hi Alanae, I've never heard of that trial and didn't know that the FDA commissioned tests themselves.

If you find the source of that information could you post it for us please? It will be very interesting to see it, especially since it claims that vaping has tested cleaner for urine 'contaminants'.
yes really...did he actually mean the FDA did this test?...i would also love to read this in its entirety if theres a link.

I came across the article when I was doing research into ecigs for the first time about a month ago. Since joining this site, and hearing about the idiocy of the FDA, I have attempted countless times to come across the article again. Unfortunately, I have had no success with finding it again. I have tried in a desperate vain attempt to find it thinking we (the ecig community) to use it to our benefit in this fight with the FDA. I haven't given up the search but with thousands upon thousands of sites online and since I have forgotten the search words I used when it popped up...well let's just say I'm not overly sure I can find it again unfortunately. I do know it's out there somewhere in the infinite universe of the web, but it's starting to feel like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
