What is the best way to clean a 510 atty? I know this has been discussed a million times over and over but I can't get any clear answer in the forum searches. I have two atty's one is almost new and the other is one I use all the time. I can blow through both of them but the one I use all the time is a little harder to blow through. It is not completely clogged but the draw is harder when I use it compared to the newer atty. It still produces vapor but it has lost its whistle sound when I draw on it.

At first I thought I flooded the atty, (and maybe I did) but I thought I could just keep vaping and it would eventually get better.

I always thought that the less you mess with an atty the longer it will last, I spent the last hour trying to blow it out into a napkin and even tried doing a dry burn to get it unclogged but it's not working. I can still use it but it feels half clogged. What can I do to unclog it without losing the life (or part of the life) of my atty altogether?

I bet Jim Davis would have a good suggestion for this.

Could be due to the small air holes in the base of the atty being clogged with residue. I would try soaking it in hot distilled water to see if that would dissolve any residue in the passages. Let it cool then blow through the cart side while holding your fingertip over the center hole at the battery end.

I've found that I could get attys to dry faster by rinsing them with 10-15 drops of Everclear, then shaking the remaining liquid out (like you would shake an oral thermometer).

you are right, everclear or vodka for a fast dry, soak it and blow several times with your mouth from both end, don't use compressed air, it could break the resistor, let it rest for 1 hour and done

It worked....Thanks for the help. I boiled some water and then removed the water from heat and poored it in another pot that was not hot, then I put the atty in and let it soak until the water cooled enough to put my hand in it to take it out. So about a half hour to forty minutes. I blew through the atty after I took it out of the water and then let it air dry by itself for ten hours. It would probably dry in a shorter time but I was at work and I just let it sit at home.

When I got home from work I filled up a cart and tried it out and it produced little vapor. I then put two drops of juice on the atty and put the cart back it and now it's working.

It's working better than last night but still not as good of airflow as my less used atty.

Looks like I'm gonna have to get more atty's. I knew I had to one day, and I will start a collection of atty's that work but not so well box.

me I rarely need to clean out my attys, maybe once every 2 weeks, probally less
I blow out my attys (batt end) daily, you got to blow hard, and dont stop until you get atleast on drop out (its in there i promise), then use a paper towel to wipe of the batt end, outside and inside, dont twist because you can knock the metal wicking fibers off the bridge (learned that the hard way)
after doing this properly you should only get maybe 3 to 5 drags before your dry burning, then if you want to be sure, soak it in 151, vodka, everclear, viniger, (pick ur poisen) for an hour or so, then if you have access, blowdry it, and let it sit for a while were it will get good air circulation, some say stick it in the oven at 100 degress for like 10 min, I haven't tried this but I dont recommend it.
If you dont have a blow dryer, blow, use a paper towel (not TP it will come off and get stuck to the bridge) and let the atty sit like 6 hrs maybe overnight (do not try to burn it dry)
