buy a simple reliable high quality Panzer or King clone in stainless steel (For durability). Run Sony`s in it. These two are very stout heavy duty mechs with contacts that work. Get a feel for it and see how the contacts work and how a mech switch works, see how batteries drain under different loads and learn. Then you can figure out what you want in a mech. Sure you know battery safety, but next comes MECH safety. How are they are made, what does quality of contacts do, what is the function of contacts, quality of insulators if there are any, ect.
And no one stops at one mech, they are simply too cheap to buy just one.

Visit the mech forum to browse and learn.

Have fun.

I'm no dummy and can handle the safety and such so skip the warnings please...
My best coils come out at <.2 so they just look pretty.

Oh, so you want to move from regulated mods to unregulated so that you can *safely* fire 20A+? Yeah, sure.

I'll skip the warnings. Stop it. Stop it right now.

Someone already set me straight, but thanks. My days not complete without someone being a condescending ...

I made a newb mistake and like many others I was misled by people in my local b&ms.

Since I had an interest in vaping I have done as much research as I can, within reason (2 year old kid), and I respect the opinions of certain members of this forum.

And I am still gonna research mechanic safety and amps etc. I'm not stupid, just new

Not being condescending works both ways .... just sayin ;)

The science behind vaping is pretty simple, but it needs to be learned before jumping off any cliffs.
Looks to me like you're getting it tho'.

Nice looking 2 year old ya got there BTW. :)
Thank you :) If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be alive today. Anyhow, it's the electricity conversions and safe zones I need to learn, like the max safe output for each battery and what ohm that translates too etc. I know enough to get started, but I'm going to be very careful, the last thing I wanna do is hurt the vaping community by blowing my face up and ending up on the news. There's enough propaganda already (Learned the hard way, tried to squeeze my coil with metal pliers while firing it, needless to say, there was fire) I knew it was stupid after I did it, but I didn't think, lesson learned, think about what your doing before you do it, in life and in vaping.

Looks like you've already decided on one. I was about to suggest two that I have that I really like.. one is a Nemesis, which is the most versatile, but one of the longest. You can get magnets for it pretty cheap. Next would be the Caravella. The one I have has been extremely reliable. Both of those have locking rings which I highly suggest. If you wish to forgo the locking switch, you could go with a SIMPL mod which is even shorter.. the atomizer connects directly to the top of the battery and the button connects the negative to the threads via the tube. I prefer the clones over the authentics, since I don't see the use in paying extra for a glorified tube. I also do a lot of buying from Fasttech. So, Here's those suggestions from Fasttech: Nemesis and Magnets for Nemesis , Caravella (would like to find magnets that work with this), and the SMPL mod. the last two have no magnet options to my knowledge, but they can be had elsewhere.

I'm also thinking about picking up the noisy cricket for a dual battery mech. Anyone have it or know about it, I think I like it better than that clear one, and the screw on battery door could be remedied by installing a few magnets right?

Noisy Cricket Box Mod $19.52 | Vaping Cheap
That is a series mod. I highly recommend sticking with parallel.

Please go to @Mooch blog and read about the diferent batteries that are available. Stay away from rewraps. Far away.
