I though I'd throw my :2c: in its a bit long but as I've had the chance to compare in hand a few real mods next to there clones some I own some I don't but have had the chance to compare side by side. Here's a pic of my most expensive mod a real Private v2, my favorite mod brass M16 clone from FT, and my most hated mod/clone/want-a-bee the #19 with IGO-L.

2013-08-25+18.18.44.jpg

As far as clones vs the real thing
Private v2 Clone = 1:1 copies I can even take parts from the clones and use them on the real thing except for the firing pin and the center pin the ones on the clone are smaller. Build Quality is not that great IE the finish on the aluminum but the one my brother has[clone] seems to be fine. But considering the price difference not that big of a deal. My brother got his from FT for what $12 I paid $180 for mine:facepalm: I mean the build quality is better but that's a huge gap considering the performance is pretty much the same. Those silver plated pins don't really do a whole lot on the real one in fact the silver plating started coming off. After about a month it was to the point where only the brass was making a connection.

:DBrass M16 = My most used mod at the moment never seen a real one but this one is really f*^king nice I end up putting my Trident on it more then the Private v2 which I bought it for. It has a nice weight too it probably the heaviest mech mod I have.

:mad:Sigelei #19 = I only show/mention it only to warn you the #19 and most other Sigelei's I've played with while they look nice they require some work/modding/fixing to get it performing at an enjoyable level. I mean some of the Sigelei's or decent I liked the Zmax but as far as their mechs go not really worth it compared to some of the clones I got from FT for far less money.
:evil:Aluminum Sentinel clone from FT = junk I suggest sticking to brass or steel seeing as not all aluminum is the same there a decent weight difference between a real sentinel and a clone and the treads on the aluminum clones ain't that good. I ended up just using the aluminum outer tubes from the sentinel clone to fill in the gaps on the private v2 when using longer batteries and/or a kick.

:)Chi Yu / BaGua clones from FT = I have a few of these some brass/some steel there the same as the real mod same button and everything . I like these mostly because no matter what battery I use its a single size tube mod unlike the telescoping mods that have an outer tube and a smaller inner tube which is why I put the tube on the private when I'm using longer batteries. The only problem I seen with them is the finish on the tubes and the adjustable airflow controller doesn't work that good easy fix though it just seems like they didn't drill the holes all the way trough on the top cap. Also the logos can be a bit off centered still all and all a decent clone. I just wish they had the BaGua 14500 clone.

:unsure:K100 from FT = Its ok not really in my top pick but it performs well. Its mostly the styling of the telescoping tube and the button they both work I just don't like the look of them that much.

For the most parts clones are getting pretty good these days in fact you would think some of them where made in the same factory as the real thing[Grand Vapor]. I don't have any side button mods clones or genuine I prefer bottom buttons so I can't speak on them. I have a lot of clones multiples of some and a few genuine mods too, but at the price they go for I can get a few clones some good, some bad and still come out cheaper. FT has changed the way I buy mods shipping from FT is a bit long but worth it at those prices. Its also worth paying the extra 30 cent for USPS First-Class from FT takes about 5-7 days without it, it can take up 30 days. But I can seen buying from a US vender to receive it faster. Which is why I buy my batteries and small part from my local vape/hobby shops.

Also something to consider is even though not a mod but still a clone is IGO-L from FT its clone of a clone but better then the... "real clone" and at the price FT has them its the best starter RDA you can buy cames with enough wick and wire to build 4 coils and a drip tip the real one doesn't come with any of that just the RDA itself and its twice the price.

I ordered a gold Trident clone from FT to compare to the real one I have. The Trident is the best damn RDA in the world:vapor: I say that mostly because I probably over paid for it I have a real one. But if the clone is just as good as the real deal I may be getting a few of them.

Hey folks. So here's the deal, I've been vaping for a couple months now, started on eGo-t and a couple ce4s. A month ago I got a zmax v3 tele for my birthday and never looked back. I use it all day, every day. Now I'm looking into a mechanical to take to work and out with me as I get some funny looks with my robot cigar poking out of my pocket. I can't decide on just one thing. Im looking for a side button or bottom button. Im looking for stainless or brass or a combo of both. I don't want aluminum because it feels cheap and is as soft as a warm crayon. FLUSH MOUNTING 510 PLEASE. I was looking at the smok natural until I saw on todds that the 510 sticks out. That's one of the things that bugs me about my zmax. Adjustable center pin and good performance/efficiency. Probably gonna get set up with an rsst (nicest rba for the price unless I missed something) or something similar. And a mini rda I have sitting around.

My list of potentials include(but are not limited to)
EA mod clone
Brass Sentinel v3 clone (Great performance but worried about finding something to match the looks)
Kts+
Sigeleis #8
a

Im also open to hybrids or anything you guys want me to take a look at. Looking to spend around 100$ on the mod, atty (any recommendations? ) and wire+wick.

I have several mech clones. The most solid and best performing I've found is the K100. The Sigelei 8w (Caravella clone) is a very close second. If it wasnt for the stiff firing button, it would be a tie.

You mentioned that you were interested in the EA clone...that was my first mech as well, and it is still one of my favorite mods. The EA is a bit more expensive, for a clone, but it doesn't feel like it is a clone. The firing pin, 510 connection w/ floating pin, and the bottom cap are exactly the same as the real thing. I am constantly changing my atties and I have no concern for the threads...the thing is solid as a rock and vapes great too.

That being said, it doesn't have the flash that some of the other clones do, such as the Chi You, Ba Gua (8 Diagrams), or Private V2. I recently received my Chi You clone and it really is a sexy device, looking pretty much identical to the real one. The Chi You clone does have some issues with it, but it is still a nice mod to vape on. The Ba Gua clone doesn't have engineering flaws like the Chi You clone does, and the private V2 and M16 are great as long as you don't get the aluminum versions.

Personally, I buy the clones so that I can justify buying the real version later. Often, there really is a difference in vape quality. Clones are just sooo tempting...when I see what appears to be a $250+ mod for only $20, I have a hard time not giving in to the deal.

i've amassed quite a few siegeleis and various others that i'm thinking of unloading them. i have the 19b with upgraded magnets in silver and brass, a gv clone, a #8, and a bunch of metal things i don't even know the name of laying around doing virtually nothing... every once in a while, i'll bust one out, but for the most part, they would probably be much better served in others hands.

as for fasttech, i order from them all the time, and the wait time is not bad at all, considering where it's coming from. i've waited as little as 5 days and i think as many as 8. if you know what to look for there, you can do okay... but don't expect something for nothing. i have a lot of rba's laying around that i have purchased from them that turn out to be the very same ones i'll purchase from a stateside vendor, with different branding.

Awww gotta put my input in. Just received my all brass m16 clone and woooooow does it hit. Comparing it to my smoktech magneto, the m16 clone hit A LOT HARDER!!!! I kept switching the same battery and atty between the two mods because i just couldn't believe what i'm hitting lol and wow what a difference. Just couldn't beleive a $16 mod performs better than my $40 magneto -_-;;.

V3 brass, and M16 clones... hit as hard or HARDER than anything, and I've tried just about all the high end mechs... I like power for my genesis attys, and you will find my geni's on these clones!

silica or cotton drippers don't seem to need as much raw power as geni's with heat-sink wicks. my chemi's from GB are up there too, but for undiluted power, those sentinel clones kick .....!

I've yet to try the m16 clone on my aga t2 since i don't enjoy it as much as my igo w xD Yes those sentinel clone do kick ..., so speechless! I just might have to get V3 brass mod too now. Does anyone know if the Private V2 clone hit just as hard as the other V3/m16 brass clone?

Clones I want or have:
1. Brass M16 (very good conductivity and low resistance)
2. EHPro EA Clone (superb machining/good conductivity and resistance)
3. Sigelei 8W (needed some finishing, but beautiful afterwards/spring or magnet upgrade to come shortly)
4. Smoktech Magneto (In the mail)
5. Wooliston (Want just to start conversations, wanna try my wooliston)
6. Nemesis Clone (Waiting for more reviews)
7. Private V2 Stainless (In the mail)
8. EH Pro Nzonic V3 or better

REAL HIGH ENDS I want to buy
1. SUPER-T ELA
2. Real Nzonic
3. Brass Nemesis

I love IGO-W's 0.8 ohm dual nichrome w/cotton wicks for almost all my mods. I will be experimenting with the AGA-T2 as an assisted auto dripper just waiting for it to come in the mail.
