I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to tell the difference between a CV1 Virtus authentic mod and a clone. I have looked all over the Internet for advice and keep finding nothing. The guy tells me it's an authentic but has no authenticity card. Just seems kinda sketchy to me. I mean, even of it is a clone I'm getting a good deal...I think. He only wants $30 for it. He says that he got it as a gift and knows nothing about vaping or its worth. This is the only picture I have of it and can't go look at it until tomorrow. I was hoping to be able to get some ideas before I meet with him. Thank you for helping me distinguish between the 2.

Fasttech: Discontinued.

Difference? Price plus details. Seems it WAS a well made clone.

Ask him, if it is a special edition...because "Made in the USA" sounds like original...but...

Looks very nice! I would grab it.
I've read some really good things about them. I'm gonna just go check it out tomorrow. Poor guy...he only advertised it on our local FB classifieds. If he would've put it on our local vape buy, sell, or trade site. It would've been gone in 20 mins. I guess we'll see tomorrow

If is very hard to tell a clone from an authentic.

I am under the opinion that most clones are authentics but with slight variance in tolerances.

Most authentics comes with a scratch and check on the box or on a card inside the box.

sometimes.. clones end up being even better than the original.. for 30 you can't go wrong unless it's fried, i'd get it.
I agree.

My Kayfun clone from Fasttech leaks much less than my authentic Kayfun Mini V3 that i have to shut off the Juice flow before bed or there is Juice all over my mod and the counter next morning.

90% of mg problem attys have all been authentic

I own a pair of clones, my 454BB's... finding authentic of them.. uncommon at the time I found them. I paid 3.99 each for a 99 dollar atty at the only site I've seen an authentic... why spend that for it? in this case the clones are impossible to tell apart, and you wouldn't have known if I hadn't said they were. sometimes clones are the only way to get that particular design. I'm not going to look down on someone having one, even if I didn't have a pair of clones myself... now batteries are a different story...

I have found some clones to be as good, or better, than originals. BUT, it takes a good bit of research and listening to other's experiences. It means I don't get the latest and greatest, I have to wait for the discussions and reviews. And those can be skewed, too.

I am not a name-brand buyer per se, I like to think that I am quality-oriented buyer.

Sooo, one of these days I will finally decide if the Protank 1 is a good buy.

I found this for sale on Ebay, has some great photos, maybe it can help you figure if yours is authentic.
Yours has those little white dots on the bottom (maybe reflection of something), I dont see it on photos of actual ones. Again, there were probably many versions so Im no expert.
