Posted recently in the latest one, and it seems that majority of people simply don't understand artisan craft in today's day and age - cost:benefit, period.
I'll use a different example in this thread for variety - skateboard trucks (things wheels attach to, that makes the whole board turn). Long time ago, precision manufacturers emerged to create trucks that would respond predictably, every time, and be stronger and lighter than the average cast trucks. They were EXTRA pricey and aimed at the top of the pro market (of people with deep pockets, and current authentic legends of vape world). Over the years, several manufacturers found a way to create FAR more affordable precision trucks to target the meat of the populace, and their products became more popular and allowed them to grow due to a higher saturation of the market without significant loss in quality nor performance (Yiloong, Smoktech, etc). There were clones too, which were on-par with the cheapest no-name stuff from Fasttech.
At the end of the day, what would you buy? Something as good as the top-shelf in about every way for 1/4 the price; the top shelf; or the bottom of the barrel?
And here's the kicker - the more you sell, the more you help your business and your country's economy, especially if you begin to export. There's NOTHING wrong with outsourcing production, to your spec, to someone more qualified to do so as long as you yield a greater # sold and thus out in the market's hands because that grows you and your brand.
