i resent the "i cant afford it" angle bc i dont make much money at all. I've lived on my own for $1200/month and i have still made it happen. i saved.

O, my… Saving on authentic vaping equipment! You are hobbyist, not just a vaper. I can buy any (or rather all, with exemption of those made of gold with diamonds) authentic vaping pieces, I just do not need it. I see no value in them, so I would not pay for them. I am not a hobbyist. Please, do not extrapolate your own skewed by your hobby values on others.

i dont appreciate the opinion that there is never any reason to buy an authentic piece and that they are actually comparable in quality.

Free country, I was told. You are entitled to have your own opinion.

hoe can we expect the future of vaping to get better if we will not support innovation?

Future of vaping now is moving to China (thanks to ridiculous business practices of western “authentic” product makers). Pay for Chinese product, pay for future of vaping.

that's fair. my rationale on them being worth saving up for was initially not very hobby driven. i vaped my original egos for nearly a year. the original motivation in placing the first order was to have something i could trust in for years without having to replace it. it kind of kick started my hobbyist tendencies there. like many i spent lots of money on smokes a month. it's really easy to justify shelling out for something that will last longer and is still less than a tobacco habit, which is a totally consumable cost.
if you don't see value in it that is up to you.

i've tried the usual chinese products: joyetech, smoktech, eleaf, vision, innokin. tbh the only one i'm completely satisfied with is eleaf, and all i have is a couple of lemos. all other products i have tried have already have bit the dust under gentle use. it's not because of some misplaced sense of xenophobia, either. i am a-ok with chinese products. i have just found their products to be way less reliable and i have had everything disintegrate at once. i know i was pretty happy to have other options available.

my goal is to limit the amount of consumable items i have. the times i have tried to branch out to try some of the other options i have found that eventually they all give up and that may come sooner than expected.

i appreciate you sharing some links with me, but i don't know why you linked me to the protank and nautilus? i feel like i am missing something. :p

i have an authentic v2 hobo that came without a very crucial o-ring.
i also have 2 authentic v2.5 zeniths that i had to cut the threads on so they would thread onto my mods. the clone was perfect out of the box, 1/3 of the price and came with 3 different colored AFC sleeves.

it's hit or miss either way.
I get its going to be hit or miss but overall I've had bad experiences with clones all around. The one authentic I have so far is excellent and the others I've handled in B&M's show much better materials and craftsmanship then the clones I've experienced.

I also buy all my hardware locally so I know exactly what I'm getting. If there ever was an issue, it would be right back to the store I go for either a replacement piece or an exchange.

fair enough.

just wanted to let you know in case you didn't.

good to hear you've got things worked out with a system and a place to take responsibility for lemons.

my local B&Ms are tiny and not too savvy. for real gear, i have to drive quite a bit further than i see a necessity for.

i purchase online like many others. for me that means know my clones through research or don't buy. authentics, you tend to get on board while they're available and hope for the best. lol, ugh...

Just curious....I love the clone/ authentic threads. People get pretty "passionate" about what other people choose to spend their money on....its kinda crazy.

I was just curious if anyone ever changed their stance on buying or not buying clones after reading one of the thousands of angry debates about clones vs. authentics.

My stance has remained steady since the beginning. I still don't care what you use.

Me either, but man its fun to argue, push buttons and savor the nerdrage

With everyone trying to be a reviewer these days, it's just really easy to research everything before purchase. There's literally a video for every piece of gear known to man. I research authentics, clones......everything. I haven't "thrown money away" on a piece of hardware in a long time.
