Spanaway, Wa
Hi everyone,
I have been pretty sick with a late winter cold.
Just enough to keep me miserable :(

Bryan, I got my yummy order today, Thank you for the sample.
Right now I am vaping old crappy juice as I can't taste and don't want to waste the good stuff, LOL
I will let you know what I think later when I can taste :)

I live in Washington! I am happy the Seahawks won!
My husband and Father n law both had ( to see the Seahawks win the Super Bowl win on their bucket list) :)
I am happy they can cross it off and they enjoyed themselves.
For me Football is just blah to me, LOL

I hope all of you are well and having a good start of the week!

I hope little Bryce is growing leaps and bounds :)
Is his personality showing thru yet? ;)

Here is what I have been doing with mine. Better flavor than the horizontal. Both are 1.3ohm on a 1/16 bit. First is 28ga, 2nd is triple 32ga twisted.

Ugghhh!!! The first vertical I made last night looked pretty good, but it kept shorting. I finally gave up and built a new coil, a perfect 1.6 ohm. Today it started shorting again, and I have figured it out. The center pin keeps coming lose.

The first day I completely disassembled the Russian and cleaned all the parts. I tightened the center pin with a screw driver before inserting the center pin short screw. The center pin is what holds the SS block with the positive connector to the build deck. When I would tighten the positive screw, the SS block would move. I got a bigger screwdriver and tightened the center pin as much as I could.

When I had the short with the first vertical coil, I didn't realize that screw was loose again, so I tightened it down one more time before building the second vertical coil.

Today I got a couple of dry hits. I took the chimney off and rearranged the cotton. Now it's shorting again, so I now that darn screw moved.

Gonna jump in here. I wish someone woulda mentioned that darn screw before I bought my 91%er. That adjustable 510 connector is absolutely the worst part of the Russian. If it isn't it's the part that has given me the biggest headache. Mine is constantly in motion and it cause the resistances to read differently.

I got my first two bottles of Bryce's juice today. I'm in Hawaii and it think I just ordered them on Thursday or Friday. I have items from other vendors from two weeks ago now that still haven't arrived and Bryce's got here in. 3 or 4 days. Thanks for that.

I am so frustrated. I keep getting shorts to matter. I'll loosen the center pin a bit or tighten a bit, and it will work. A few minutes later a short. It is definitely not the coil, but is somehow related to this center pin.

Yeah I'm still not 100% winning with mine. But here's what has helped me the most. I took the 510 connecting part (the bottom half of the pin) out. Then with the deck only I held the positive end in place and made sure that the positive was all the way tightened down. It's still going to wiggle a bit but ya got to make sure it's all the way down. Then once your sure the block is set where it's supposed to be screw the 510 back in to where it needs to be. Then reassemble and hope for the best.
In my experiences I've found I get the most shorts when I adjust the pin after I have the whole thing assembled.

YouTube video is what made it work out the best for me:

This is the thread I started that got me where I'm at now.

Tried using a small o ring or two to keep tension? Maybe use that tape meant for threads?

I was actually leaning toward getting a Russian because I like the matte look better. Guess I better wait it out .

Someone recommended using a gasket from a protank head up there.

I've looked at all of that. I'm wondering if putting a little noalax on the screws would help.

How did that cupcake treat ya Jeff?

-Lord

I really like it. I'm very happy with where it's at but I also wouldn't complain if it had a tiny bit more flavoring. But as soon as you have more for sale I will be buying more either way. It's easily become one of my favorites
