I have now found my perfect pressure point. I have in addition to magnets placed me a thin O-ring / gasket on the button. Did not want to turn my Copper. I can not describe it, press which is now a great feeling and the button is no longer up so far out :)

Hi All, New TMOD Owner here ( I have received my 18650 sniper grey girl and have a nra blu lizard on top mini on order) I was using MNKE batteries at first and was having a lot of misfires but now i have new Sony VCT5s and its doing some better although the button is still very hard to push and i still get some misfires ( I will try the magnet thing to fix that) but I still have a few questions:

1. I noticed when I took my fire button out for cleaning - there was a lot of blackish "goop" on and around the button. Is that naolox or oxidation? I wiped it off , is it supposed to stay on there?
2. Im currently using an odin on my 18650 sniper grey girl tmod but Im interested in the stumpy and /or vector or any other atty yall think is the best. Which do you recommend between a stumpy and a vector and do you have any other atty recommendations for a rocking TMOD atty?
3. what atty do you recommend for the mini? anything different than for the 18650? ( I have been trying dual coils but struggling with them even after watching superx how to videos so I usually do only single coil with 28 g over 2.0mm coil master jig at .7ohms)
4. What is the consensus on the best way to clean the TMOD ( firing pin and general maintenance) and keep it hitting hard?
Thank You.
Yikes! That's a lot of questions! :)
This thread is busiest in the evening, and I'm sure some folks will happily offer their thoughts. As for attys, if you're a flavor chaser, go Stumpy over Vector. The Stumpy loves a single coil, and is easy to build. The Vector is a bit more fiddley, but I know that folks like it. I'm planning to use a Stumpy on one of my baby TMods; I'll probably use a Nectar Micro on the other. A few pages back there was a longish discussion on cleaning. Someone (I'm sorry. Can't recall the name, but his avi is a smiley face) suggested using lemon juice. I think Super_X tried it and also liked the lemon juice method. I hate to ask you to look back, but I'm unable to do it myself, right now.
Welcome to TMod!

ETA: the lemon juice method was suggested by Franky3001.

I will look back and read about the lemon juice. Im searching where to buy a stumpy and nectar micro now. Does catfish atty mods take paypal for payment? Thank you for your reply.

Squonker, Congrats on your first TMod! [emoji4] I second that on the Stumpy for an atty. they are fabulous and have great flavor to boot.

As far as cleaning your TMod. I took an old sharpie or can use a pen, and taped some fine sandpaper to the end. Take that and swirl it around in the bottom of the battery hole to clean off the buildup. I then use a qtip with 91% rubbing alcohol and clean that same area. For the positive contact, you can use a pencil eraser. I sometimes use a bit of copper/brass cleaner on a qtip. You can also clean and scrub the whole mod when needed and take the button out of it's hole and scrub it down as well. It comes out fairly easily when that nut under the 510 is loosened. Just be sure the positive contact is back and tightened into it's proper place when done. You do not want it touching the sides of your mod when you fire it. So make sure it is back in place and tightened back up [emoji4]

Oh, and a dab of deoxit on the contacts occasionally wont hurt either.

Thank You both. Stumpy it is. I went there and signed up for a stumpy and also for a derringer as a back up ( is it good?), I am excited. I am a flavor chaser so I am looking forward to the stumpy and I will definitely use your cleaning tips mommabird.

Derringers are good as well. You made two good choices. [emoji4]

I saw where you signed up for both. I love those two above all and am hard pressed to decide which I like the best. Good choices!

Remember a clean Tmod is a happy Tmod. Depending level you vape will depend on cleaning necessary however I'm a true believer once a week generally a weekend will keep your Tmod ship shape! I like to fully clean all battery contact points eraser, metal polish, fine sandpaper wiping all with alcohol or even water.

On week three or four I do a full strip down. Everything fully cleaned in soapy water, contacts as above but 510 and everything on this clean. This is when I get best results always feels like an extra 5% when the 510 and underside contact is included

1. I had none on mine. Maybe some oil and or oxidation. Wipe it off. You want the button and compartment smooth and clean.
2. REOMIZER 9.0 SQUONKED BY THE SQUONK MASTER HIMSELF. It's a Vector. It is glued to my TMOD. reomods.com
3. Do not own a mini.
4. Deoxite gold your contacts including the bottom of the battery hole. Wipe everything with a damp towel and dry. That's all there is.

Thank You, I think I will too
Deoxite Gold is an antioxidant and a sealant protectant for electronic contact points. When an electric charge is generated through copper or brass or steel it leaves a residue that is technically oxidation. It builds up as a blackish, greasy residue. A deoxidant cleans these areas and protects it from oxidizing...it slows the oxidizing process so your contacts conduct that electrical charge as efficiently as possible. The end result is a TMOD that fires with max force and max electrical charge every time you fire it.

I have had deoxite gold for quite some time now and if I'm being honest I never noticed a difference from using it. If your the type to not do regular maintenance it's probably beneficial but regular cleaning will keep the Tmod in tip top shape.
