Side note.

Right now I'm making 3.1 alps buttons for the 3d printed mods in aluminum, 101 copper and 464 naval brass, PM me for details
If anyone has a button and matching switch for ball tact for 3.1 or 4.2 or button for alps version 4.2 that they can part with please let me know. I will check out all versions to see if they are doable. If you want a 3.1 alps button pm me.

That copper one that is missing the tiny ball, if that's a mistake I'll take that one. I have Pekos (mechanical) I could probably modify that button to fit my Peko.

You'll notice there a little tit left in the bottom I leave that on there to actuate the switch. It can be sanded down to fit. That one was left thick and sanded down.

I know it looks like I have too much time on my hands but I have two mills going at the same time lately. So for the record I was running two mills and a lathe at the same time. . That's how I multitask lol

I like the way you rounded those buttons. What kind of file do I need to do that to my Ti button?
Have fun.. I used the same file ... probably, on your ti button as i did on those. If I had to estimate I spent ten times as much time with the file on the Ti button while it was in the lathe and applied ten times as much pressure. Titanium is just that much harder, I'll allow that copper is softer but the titanium is way hard. In order to get any more rounding on the Ti buttons I have to use the router setup and then it makes it more rounded than just beveled.

Lol, it's doable...but its a pita.

I swear to god if I slit my wrists it's because of Tapatalk ..

Don't do that Tom, we need you. You should take some of these big bucks you been makin and get yourself a tablet or somethin. :D

I have access to machines if the ones I already have don't do the trick. I just wasn't sure what would be the best tooling would be for widdeling down titanium. I was assuming it would make butter out of a regular file. A diamond file maybe?

I'm due for a visit with my dad anyway. He was a rocket machinist for 35 years. Built the turning nozzles for the voyager. Im pretty sure he has something that will do the trick. If I just happened to show up with the right tooling in my pocket he would be much more helpful. Maybe even interested. :D

I use cobalt for stainless but I've never worked with Ti before. When I did a quick Google all I got was jeweler's and fingernail files.

I use a regular old file for it, it just takes longer but it will work. Don't worry about screwing it up, I'm gonna send you a new one anyways. I'm make it between yours and the one pictured below.

I think that would be perfect. I think you read my mind... But not the part about sending me a new button. That's just a really cool thing to do. Thank you Tom for your awesome customer service through the whole process.

PS. I assume you know I was kidding about the big bucks right. :D

Also, now that I've had a few days with my T-mod... I'm really loving this beast. Im back to burning through almost 5ml of juice between battery changes because of how efficient it is. Even with ~.2ohm builds in there. Hehe, I'm pretty sure my batteries don't appreciate it. I'm pulling them out @~3.6V.
