All the packs I am finding are way high continuous Amps. Like. 160 +. The more cells. The more voltage output. I found an 8000 mah. It's big tho. But it claims to run an ex plane for 45 minutes. I would think we would
Want the soft shell tho. So it can be jammed in a smaller application. And we can squeeze a bit more mah out of the room. But I am no expert at all on any of this. I don't mind researching a bit tho TBrethran. Lol

The best 266502 were the vac 25r's 50 amp cont. I believe, may have been 40a, but they are old and gone now.

Thanks Hemp! Let me know if you don't mind. I would imagine that even if it was a 4.2 v battery pack it would be alright, may be wrong, I'd imagine I would jump build to adjust for it a little.

I just got a couple and I just kinda assumed they were gonna be ripoffs but they seem good to me....I'm comparing them to year old vtc`s that have been to the bottom of the lake and abused as hard as possible. .

lots of knock offs around, but reputable suppliers have legit ones. sony only make them to sell for packs apparently, so resellers of 18650 need to wait for places like laptop manufacturers to have excess stock and resell

Yea I guess that's the part I'm not understanding. The sx350 chip will output 9.5 volts and 40 amps with 96% efficiency if I'm not mistaken. This is with dual batteries either 18650 or 26650. This will give you 120 watts. Correct?

Can it do 9.5V and 40A at the same time? That would be 380W.
I'm not seeing specs like that online though. They all say 60W max, an 25A max.
If that's correct than max current at 9.5V would be 6.3A (1.5ohm build)
To get 25A the voltage would have to be 2.4V or less. That would require a less than 0.1 ohm builds.

I certainly appreciate all the input on the lipo batteries and chargers! ;) I guess my real question is how much space will be saved by using them as opposed to doing dual 18650's? Or even dual 26650's ;)

The 2nd pack the beck linked earlier is 92 x 34 x 20 mm. V/s 65mm long and 18 or 26 mm diameter (each) so a bit longer (27mm, just over an inch).
Thinner than a 26, and not much thicker than an 18. Width, compared to dual 18's would be 36+ spacing (3-5mm?) and dual 26's would be 52 + spacing.

So a considerable amount smaller width and depth compared to a dual setup, at the expense of bit more length.

IF you wanted a more custom pack, then you could change the dimensions.

i recall the first 'Groove' mod that would catch fire from just a poke on the LIPO or a drop on carpet. I like the idea of the battery capacity, but the expensive chargers and need to charge them in a bag, is frankly too much hassle compared to IMR's.

Tom's not talking about a bare cell, so it would have a protective case to help prevent punctures.

As I linked earlier, $30 or less for a charger that would work well in a vaping environment.

Do you charge you phone in a bag? No more need for it here than there.
It's a safety thing, and matters at high charge rates.

Of course I don't charge 18650's unattended either.

I don't think if matters if it's wrapped or not, I'll measure some stuff tomorrow, under 22mm say 20 to be safe in diameter is cool, there's definitely room, we can go up to 27 wide and not make the 26650 mod any bigger. Height is no problem prolly, exec adding height isn't a big day to me, I think it's better than any other way personally .

This is a 6000 mah lipo in a jamming 1590g enclosure

What if we changed the bottle as well. To one of the vintage bottles. The square ones that come in a zippo can To hold 15 mils of juice. Lol

Obviously there has to be drastic changes all around to support a different shaped battery

I don't like those bottles, the standard 10mm bottles squonker really well, partly because I keep them in there tight and secured all the way around. For this reason I would l I keep to go with a thicker battery, that battery but folded in had the long way so it's the same height and twice as thick would be perfect. 6.4v is not gonna do tho I don't think. So that's a 6.4v pack that is like 7th when it's charged and 6.4 v when it's dead, is that correct..? So it's going to be operating at just over 6 for mo see the of its life ?

no

it's a 6.4 amp hour battery.

just like a vtc5 is a 2500 mah (2.5 amp hour), that pack is 6400 mah.

looks to be a it's a 1s2P pack, though. (2 cells in parallel). so the voltage would be 3.7V nominal (4.2V charged).

so you could either rewire it (better have a good soldering iron.... the alum. solder on those tabs doesn't play nice with junk) or if you can find a 2s1p pack you'd have a nice 3200mah battery.

Ok I think I'm gonna get after it. I need a battery with those specs but a little different size, fatter not wider.

if you're looking for 4 volts, i'd look at saddle packs. 3p (3 cells in parallel) might be what you're looking for. though, you'd likely have to remove the hard case on many of them.
