Havok, put the button top battery in +down, report back.
Very good idea! Just tried it out and works wonderfully...shortens the throw a great deal! I was wondering what to do with these button tops, lol. They are Samsung 25Rs but I don't build low enough to stress them too much.

I'm racing thru batteries! How long will my threads last when i swap batteries 4 times a day?

Rebuilt both my Dark Horses this morning and now we're on the case. i use the batteries +ve down, and i've cleaned and Deoxited those too. It's my opinion that the contact between top and bottom of the mod is important, so i cleaned and Deoxited that too, where the 2 parts meet.
Same deal with the firing pin shovel!

Question: Those that know what i'm like realise i'm unlikely to clean the mod now or swap wicks for months! If i wanted to get the firing button out to clean, do i just spin the shovel out of the way, or is this going to throw my 510 out of whack?

ETA - bloody glad i make my own juice!

You should be fine on the threads forever I've never had any trouble with mine in two years. And I'm trying to screw things up.

I never used any of that snake oil on any of my mods. You will want to clean your bar where it contacts the battery and the bottom of the battery hole every now and again. I don't do it very often. Less often , by alot than I change wicks and the last atty off wicks I pulled had over 250ml of juice thru them.

You want to loosen the locknut before you pull your button, don't let the bar hit the case.

yepp got er figgerd out Tom...lol.I had been wussyfied by the plastic mod....a hard hitter in their own right but im sorry I think if I vaped with this mod next to one of the plastic ones...it may just spontaneously burst into FLAMES!! just cuza the sheer power this thing has!!.next time I pick one of them up im liable to crush the poor lil thing from the workout my squonk thumb is gettin!!mental image that everyone.....awwww poor itty mod! and I love my plas teck mod so ill have to be vewy vewy carefuwl.this T-MODS a beast for sure!

yeah I have the vtc 4/5 also some of the 25r's and the orange mnke's.the 25's are the newest batts I have so with the power this thing kicks out I think ima try them exclusively for a while and see how much vape time or how many batts it takes to go through a bottle of juice.what would be a guess if anyone wants to throw that out for me?if ya can pm me your address Tom I may take you up on the send back before I get to addicted to this thing, the kid I got it from did drop it a few times but it looked worse in pics.in RL it still sucks but not as noticeable with my older eyes...lol.thanks for the welcome even though I adopted this poor lil neglected mod!!!lol.L8TR---Rick

I'm glad you landed that one rudedog! If you want to send it in ill re bead blast it for ya. The throw depends on the batteries your running if your running all the same exact batteries you can bend the bar down towards the top of the battery to shorten up the throw, if you do it too much it will autofire, that's how you know you went too far.

I'm sure you notice the difference between the contact bar in my mods and the contacts in any other mods your used too, that's the main reason it's a Firmer press.. I keep it that way as a safety feature because there's no safety.. Quit being a sissy, hardcore internals require a little more pressure, you'll get used too it. WELCOME TO THE CLUB! [emoji12]

Depends on your coils - mine are at 0.3Ω and i get thru a bottle of juice with 2 of them, which is about right. My usual bottles were 6ml, but these are 10 - 18650 Tmod.

I'm running button top Orbtronic SX30s in it (VTC4's really). I get about 6ml a battery. Same now.

The way i vape is hardly conducive to "my battery lasts me 3 days". 20 ml of juice today - oh well.

Any color you want my dear, I'm ordering paint on Monday morning, if you decide before then I'll have your mod built and out to you quick.
Check out cerakote.com
When you find a color you like Google the name of the color and look at as many pics as you can, the colors varry a lot by picture depending on the pic quality, light, etc.
