Hmmmm Wonder if Tom could clean up the sharp internal edges a bit to prevent this?

Just FYI for you guys installing your batteries +side down. Make ding dang sure the wrapper on your battery is in perfect condition. The base of this mod is part of the circuit and there will be no forgiveness if the bare -negative shell of the battery ever comes in contact with the base of the mod while the +positive side of the battery is pointed down. This would result in the + and - of the battery contacting the base of the mod at the same time effectively causing a direct short.
For this reason and the fact that there's no fuse protection on this mod, I would highly recommend always running the -negative end of your battery positioned down into the base of the mod. It's not like you can take the cap off real quick if anything bad happens.
I already have little scuffs of metal showing through on some of my batteries from installing and removing them. Parts of the mod's internals consist of fairly sharp edges. All you would have to do is scuff the battery on the way in... One time... And things could get really hot.

Your prolly be fine, the titanium mods are a bit sharper than anything else, it's just how they came out. I'm using batteries that are super old, been underwater, half the wrapper missing, not saying it's a good idea just sayin..
Have you used those wrappers CC? I rewrapped a few of mine but the wrappers I got are thicker than I would like, definition thicker than stock. I'd like to get some thinner wrappers but I don't remember where I got these. ..
I've used 3/4" FEP tube (heat shrink) liberated from work before. The battery wraps i've seen come as strips like cigarette papers and you have to hairdryer or blowtorch them. But they are not tubes, so getting that last bit to stick is finnicky.

The ones I linked from RTD are tubes. They are fairly thin. I haven't put the heat gun to one yet, but here's one I just slipped a VTC5 into...
ETA: These are .005" thick, before shrinkage...

I have been thinking about it for a whil, I may have gotten mine from illum.com they are prolly twice as thick. They came as a tube.
Sweet I'll grab some of those mine add quite a bit, enough that some mods miss the negative end.
well, either the throw has worn in, or my thumb muscles are bigger. this occurred to me vaping left handed without a thought
just keeps getting better
I think it's the muscles [emoji6] Mine is the same way and Brass Beauty doesn't feel as heavy. I can pick up a REO now and it feels light as a feather. LOL

No worries bud. Anyone buying a Tmod already knows they're getting a hard core mechanical device with no fuse protection. I just thought a quick plug for safety and awareness would be appropriate.
I just noticed a couple of small tears so now I'm aware if it, I'm just more careful during battery changes. I've had no problems running my VTC5 flat tops + side up. I'm getting (very) good performance and in this configuration the battery and mod are using the same common ground so it wouldn't matter if contact did occur - they're the same.
After a few days with my Unicorn Ti girl I can still say I'm still quite happy with it. I'm (very) slowly and carefully making little tweaks. I did a little bend to lighten up the throw on the fire button and I'm really happy with the results. I might go just a smidge more and then work on shortening up the throw.
The Tmod is very electrically efficient and hits quite hard. So much so I've had to add a couple of wraps to my coil builds to up my resistance to ~.3ohm. I'm still going through 1/2 the 10ml bottle before battery changes.
I'm really loving this little tank.
I cut a V into the bottom of my feed tube, and one of those silicone wedge pieces is what I'm using between button and copper bar to shorten the throw. And I went back to using the button top batteries right side up. I think the bar must have loosened up, as the button fires WAY easier now than day one.
The button throw has to do with the thickness of the bottom of the button itself. I could make it shorter but in an attempt to accommodate a variety of batteries I have to do it that way. It also acts as a safety feature so it's not a bad idea. You can experiment with bending the contact but it's at your own risk. If you use all the same type of battery you can get away with more. . It's always gonna be a bit stiffer, it's just because it's such a big thick bar. The price you pay for preformance. .
I'm sure we might be twins Puppy (which must be a very depressing thought for you!) because i've been running mine with 0.3Ωcoils since i got it.
The fire button is ideal for me - i mash them on Reos to the extent i have had to modify all mine. I even ditched the Dibi spring for magnets to make it harder to brutalise.
The problem is that i vape left handed all the time so i can write and type and use the phone with the other.
My left forearm looks like one of Popeye's and the right one is a little T-Rex one!
