Hey everyone, so I just found out today, that the dealer i was buying my IPV3 from, canceled the purchase without notifying me and still has my money. I opened a case up, in Ebay, to get this resolved. So here is my dilemma:

I have the IPV2 and love it, I was just going to get the IPV3, and sell my IPV2, because I would have a device that would be able to go to 100w if I "wanted" too. Now that I will be getting my money back from my pre order, $150, should I still look at the IPV3? I noticed this new Clouper, that goes to 150w. I know this is not "needed', but its fun to say I can do it if I want to.

Would you recommend any brand over the other? Or, if you have a different suggestion on a 100-150w mod? I have the VTR and IPV2 now and the box mods are cool, but im open to anything.

    No you can't
I've read the book now I'm waiting for the movie to come out.

All joking aside. IMO there's two major thought's I have on these high power devices that are not available today.

    1. Warrant period.
    2. How well do they handle the heat problem.

Other than that who really knows.

Having Cloupor T5(50 watts) I'm very happy how they handled the heat issue my T5 doesn't even get warm. Cloupor has said for safety reasons it's not a passthrough device I wonder how the higher wattage device dealt with this.

Well I know my ipv2, as well as the ipv3, have a 12 month warranty, which isn't bad at all. My ipv2 doesn't get hot at all, and it's a 50w also.

I just wonder why in the world anyone would venture into the wattage never-never land with a PV of questionable design/quality.

Why do you say the ipv3 is questionable design/quality? I was only questioning pioneer4you vs clouper, as far as the brand name. I know pioneer4you has a good solid name behind them.

The ipv 2 was decent enough. I'm sure they made enough money off of us to make the IPV3 perfect..:)

    So ok

Smy god, t8, sigelei, and IPV3.. someone that isn't lazy... put up dimensions for comparison at once!
    :)

Of the options hitting soon, the SMY God 180 and the Clouper T6 are the ones I'll be looking at hands on reviews for. I personally don't see myself taking any of them above 60 watts, so that side is handled with any of the new ones. I just think the SMY looks better than any of the rest, and for the Clouper I like the 26650 design factor. That said, I plan to wait a few months after they hit early adopters hands to make any decisions. After all, somebody might make me a 75-100 watt 26650 tube mod in a classy metal finish by then, and I won't have to "settle" for a box mod at all.

I don't like either company. The specs I have seen on the Cloupor t5 and t8 do not work. given the volts, watts, and resistance in their specs and Ohm's law they do not work. I would not trust any company that can not do some simple calculations to build the mod correctly.

The IPV mod, according to spec, uses multiple batteries in series. This is less safe than parallel. I am not positive, maybe bad will chime in, but with batteries in series each battery must support the amperage figures and the max, according to specs, is 40 amps and I do not know of a battery I would feel safe at that level. I checked wikipedia and for a series circuit each element, a battery for example, has the same current flow so each battery will have to support 40 watts.

Segilei has a 100 watt mod coming out and I would take a look at it.

Batteries in series is more dangerous in a mech...not extreme though... I've had pairs of 18350s for stacking..built higher resistance coils with them..

Even safer with a regulated mod...someone that reads and posts battery specs won't help in a case like this..

I'm curious to find out if you have to rotate the batteries in the mod, or if that is only a precaution for a mech...never heard of an IMR blow up..

The specs on the T8 actually work out.

    5.6v (minimum) @ 0.2 ohms (minimum) = 156.8 watts

    5.6v (minimum) @ 4 ohms (maximum) = 7.84 watts

    Typical

    5.6v (minimum) @ 1 ohm = 31.36 watts
    14v (maximum) @ 1.5 ohm = 130.66 watts

The IPV3 is severely limited by that 7v maximum output. Unless building below 1 ohm it's limited to 50 watts.

    7v (maximum) @ 1 ohm = 49 watts

The T8 is a beast APV while the IPV3 is a electronic mech IMO.

Assuming your looking for the maximum output of these devices, those who like to build low ohms should look at the IPV3, those who like to build higher ohms should look at the T8.

Those who don't care what ohm range they vape at should probably stick to something that can provide the maximum and minimum spec'd power at both the minimum and maximum resistances. Something like a DNA20/30 or a clone of these chips.

Truthfully I want a device that can boost to 14 volts or buck to 1 volt..Coming soon to a vapetheatre near you.

    The smy god does that...

1-12.6 Volts, 5-180 Watts.. it's saying 0.5 Ohm for lowest build, 4 Ohm max, but I wonder what the actual cut off is, because the IPV doesn't see higher resistances as on open loop.. from only spec sheet available, on the eBay page..

The silver without logos looks pretty nice..almost like Kato made a regulated mod.. almost.. I'm sure they would've made it look cleaner.

    I'm not recommending anything.

It's worth to pay extra to be sure you're getting the best...

Considering pioneer4you has had some good quality products in the past and they have built a reputable and reliable brand name, I don't see how you are basically calling them non quality. They also offer a 1 year warranty with the ipv.

You be the guinea pig.. and maybe I'll buy it, and talk about how perfect it is..

I don't know where the hell you get off with all that..
    Edit
And so does the smy god, and I don't even care about the others... and they probably have warranties also.

And I haven't sent my broke ... IPV2 for my warranty yet....seriously. what gives?

I don't know why you are getting all pissy. I have the ipv2 as well and it has been nothing but great. I don't know if you just aren't reading the replies correctly or if you are just mad that someone has a different opinion than you, but no one is "lecturing" you. Chill bro, no need to get your panties in a bunch. This is all just opinions.
