So far, EVERY one that has Fried has done so in the first few days of use. I agree this is a Major Defect in the FEW that have failed.
Phil feels Cloupor should do a Recall. 100,000 Units and climbing.
99.5+% of these would test GOOD and as many are being used without issue at this point.

My Advice, if you already own one:
Do NOT leave in Stand by unattended
Do Not Pocket in Stand by
Remove Battery overnight

If you get a Defective unit, IMMEDIATELY contact you Vender and accept no less than replacement or refund.

If your unit last more than a few days to 2 weeks it is most likely NOT one of the effected units.

The only thing that would effect me if one of mine failed would be if the device was not replaced as expected.

* Final thought - New Vapors should think twice before choosing any First release devices*
Experienced Vapors understand the risk involved in being first in line.

Definitely keep an eye on these when charging, and remove batteries when not in use. There are a lot of issues vapers can tolerate, a ticking firebomb is not one of them...

This problem existed in mine and I returned 2 devices for screen sleeping issues where it wouldn't wake up and when the 3rd one messed up it did exactly what you are claiming so I went to the gun club put it down range and used it to site in the new scope for my 308 rifle. I won't purchase another Cloupor product ever after 3 duds and my buddy buying the T8 150 watt and at 150 watts it didn't put out near what my Sigelei 100 plus did with the same atty on it I'm done for sure. Sorry that you are learning this the hard way as did I but I say return it and you would do better to buy an I-stick 30 than another one of those jokes. I stay with Sigelei or KSD products never had any bad luck with them and they are built rugged as hell. I work for the railroad and have a KSD Vamo V7 40 watt tube mod that I carry in a flashlight holder that I have dropped, kicked, and stepped on a time or 2, and even though it is scratched and dinged it works flawlessly. Just don't get one from fasttech because they are selling vamo clones and they are garbage. I purchased mine from a friend that owns his own shop and he buys all his stuff from the manufacturers direct. KSD has no V8 or V9 mods so if you see a vamo v8 or v9 it is a clone. I have a 50watt I-stick ordered and own a Sig 100w plus and the 150 watt and both are fantastic. In closing I have this to say "Cloupor sux it really really sux"!
Amen to KSD! My v7 took a dive in a parking lot the other day. Battery cap popped off, put some dings in my new Kayfun 4. Still vaping on it right now! :)

I'm THIS close to getting the Cloupor but gonna wait to see the Sig mini first.. I really want a Sigelei and the price for the mini is just right..

Right behind you...
Mine is still doing fine and I'll keep on using it, but this issue did cost me money. As an insurance policy, I just ordered a Segelei Mini 30w. Magnetic battery door (on the narrow side), a real Yihi chipset, floating 510, no button rattle, comes with a nice silicone sleeve. And it's under $50.

Biggest downside? It's 90mm tall versus the Cloupor Mini's 77mm (still smaller than an IPV Mini though). And it has chrome on it. I really hate chrome.

I have had 4 different sigelei mods and all of them have worked flawlessly tube 30 watt, box 50, 100plus, 150 watt and I heard Sigelei may release another big gun later this year no confirmations on what size yet. I seen where P4Y released a 70watt mini that looks like a ZNA mod and that they released a software upgrade for the IPV3 that boosts it to 165 watts and handles down to a.08 ohm resistance coil so if you are looking for mini's there are choices I ordered a I-stick 50 watt to replace the tried and true but severely antiquated MVP2.0 as the power stretching beast 4400mah is a pretty good amount of battery life my buddy has one and he can go 2.5 - 3 days on a charge at 35 watts and an Atlantis tank. That's pretty good if you ask me.

Sorry to disappoint you but the chip in the Sigelei is their own according to a salesperson at Sigelei

Question for the technically inclined -- this is about Crxcess' list of recommendations: How much protection against potential meltdown defects do you think 5-clicking the device "off" provides? Just a little more than standby but less than removing battery? Or pretty close to no battery?

Regarding possible competitor rabble-rousing, I definitely suspect one or two of the posters in this thread of piling on for business advantage (the brand new forum members, using similar forum names, similarly broken english, etc). This does not cast doubt on the original claims of defect however....

Someone here posted it was the same chip set as the IPV Mini, but yep Sig confirmed it was done in-house.. Their Zmax line gets a lot of love though, so Sigelei can't be any worse than Cloupors "dna30" I would think.. I think I'm gonna pass yet again. Maybe if can ever get one of the $5 returned ones from Elev8, but its either gonna be IPV or Sigelei mini for my MVP replacement.. (Watch, Innokin will make a 30w 18650 MVP right after I buy one too with my luck)

Off is a pretty good feature in electronics. It tends to STOP current draw, or at minimum reduce it to almost nill. Still, nothing beats removing a power source for completely stopping something from working.:D
