Cloupor Mini Issues

So I just got my Cloupor Mini 30W VW/VV in the mail yesterday, and for 24 hours(!) it performed like a champ. Seriously impressed, opened up a whole new dimension of vaping that I didn't know existed. Regular ohm, sub ohm coils/tanks, this thing was chucking major clouds and the flavor is unbelievable once you've dialed in the power settings to find the sweet spot for whatever particular juice you are using. Bravo!

HOWEVER...

...suddenly it starts to behave erratically, like the chip got a virus or something. Randomly it doesn't fire, it cuts off mid-vape (well within the 15-second limit), doesn't read the ohms or even recognize the presence of an atomizer, etc. It might go back to normal for a few minutes, but then it starts misbehaving again. Plugging it into the charger (it's a pass-through device) remedies all problems.

Battery is new, fully charged and is of good quality, and I believe, appropriate for the device (but I could be wrong): Efest IMR 18650 3.7V Li-Mn High drain Rechargeable Battery 35A.

Has anybody had similar issues with this device? I will for sure contact the vendor (eBay seller) if it persists, but thought I'd check here first in case someone has any suggestions or info that might help me out.

EDITED TO ADD: Rapid-clicking the fire button 5 times within 3 seconds (as per the manual instructions) does not turn the device off, nor does the display go into sleep mode after 2 minutes. It seems to be perpetually locked on.

You might want to clean the contacts with Alcohol before panicking.

Plugging into the USB sort of bypasses battery in supplying power to the chip and firing, as long as the power source can keep up.

Also if the battery is near depletion, things can get hinky(out of wack)

Wifes eVic just spazzed - reading high, cutting off, no output(not firing) Battery at 96%
I pulled the tube, cleaned the + pin
Pulled and wiped the battery contact ends
Wiped the (-) spring
Cleaned the 510
Re seated the Coil

Handed it back to her working perfectly :D

A clean Mod is a happy Mod

Even though everything seemed spick and span I pulled everything apart and cleaned every conceivable contact point with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol; the battery itself, the contacts inside the box, the 510 connector, the ego adapter and blew it off with compressed air. I did the same with the external contact points on all the tanks I have. I didn't open up the tanks themselves to troubleshoot the coils since they worked fine on other devices I have.

No cigar. :( Just as erratic as before, and hooking up the charger fixed all symptoms as long as it was connected.

Just to make sure I had tried everything possible, I adjusted the screw in the 510 connector for a tighter fit, and voila!, everything seems to be back to normal. I don't see how this could possibly make a difference since a poor connection between the tank and the box wouldn't be alleviated by running it pass-through (if there's no contact, there's no contact), but there you have it. Maybe the gremlins are messing with me. Wonky for sure.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm off to my "local" (~30 mile drive) vape shop to see if they have any toys I can't live without. If the Cloupor behaves I'll put it down to experience (or inexperience as the case might be).

:D

Not no contact - POOR/intermittent contact. The pin was probably just bushing the Atty pin. This results in constant resistance changes and could drive a Chip nuts trying to compensate.
As to the Charger - You simply overcame the fault by BOOSTING power. Like a tiny wire intermittently shorting to a COIL ARCING.:)

That does seem like the most plausible explanation. :D Live and learn!
