    No you can't
has anyone observed if when charging with the mini usb that came with it, if it stops charging after 100% is reached? i charged mine from 15% to 99% in just under 2 hours off my macbook pro first gen. i unplugged it every 30 min or so to check battery percentage. i wish they would have put that percentage on the screen while charging... but if it cuts at 100% and does not overcharge, i guess i don't really care. lol

i was not sure if the battery had been at 99% and would not reach 100 through this charging method and would overcharge, or if it was almost done and was about to reach 100% and stop charging. i didn't want to take the chance and ruin a brand new VTC4

Last night I charged my sony v4 through the usb computer port after it read full charge the circles stop moving, I left it on another 15 min, it read 4.2 volt but than I put into my XTRA charger and it took another 15-20 min and the light changed to green showing it was fully charged now I've put that battery into my T5 and it's saying 19 puffs at 99% battery life. I do believe in my case it holds a better charge on my XTRA charger and last longer.

I would say you are correct. Of course I'm sure the power source will make a difference. But I took one short drag last night at 99% then turned it off and went to sleep, turned it on this morning, it was at 91%. Took about 8-10 hits on the way to college. 22 mile hwy drive. Was at 84% when I arrived. Shut it off and got out if a 2 hr class, and turned it back on, at 11. Was 78%, and after 25 minutes and about another 8-10 drags, it's at 71%. I'm running 25 watts though. 5-6 second firing.

I've taken 40 full puffs on a fresh battery and it's at 87% now. My T5 hasn't lost any battery power when I shut it off. Maybe it's time you ask the vendor for exchange or refund.

I don't think it does, every time my gauge is full it says 99%

I've only had it 2 days... Lol I think the percentage ready is a little inaccurate myself. No to say it killing the battery like it says it is.

Kinda off topic, but do you guys know what the surprise is? Sept 16 or something like that? I have heard its a firmware update that upgrades the mod to 100w capability.
I've heard a reset of the puff counter is one of the new things in the update. Power update may be another thing, but that sounds more rumored from what I've read.

No update is needed to reset the puff counter... You just press and hold both the fire button and the power up button and it resets... ???

Well there's your problem... You're reading a thread from 2010 and this just came out in 2014... :D

I kid I kid... Obviously a typo or copy/paste error... but anyway, I'm not sure what you meant to link to, but if someone is saying they can't reset their puff counter then they have a defective unit... I reset mine occasionally just to get an idea of what I get out of my different tanks...

I've seen a lot of positive reviews on these; I just wish they weren't so darned ugly lol

To see it in photos, just does not do it justice. I have 2 Kayfuns that I mix and match parts for, one black, one satin finish. I put the lower and upper tank sections from the brushed Kayfun on the black one, then slap that baby on the T5 and it looks incredible. It's definitely bigger around than your standard mech mod, but it's short. I also just ordered a black Veritas 29mm (clone) for this as well, so I can't wait to see that on it.

I guess you'd just have to go visit a local shop that has one to see it in person.

At any rate, that's just my 2 cents.

Here's a little tip that may help some of you with the random power offs. I had the same issue, the thing would power off randomly, for no reason. Then I noticed something when changing the battery... one screw in particular has to absolutely be tightened all the way, or the display will flash on, then off. I put pressure where that screw would go, and it powered on. I ran it with that screw about 1/4 turn back from fully tight, and had random power offs. Tightened it up, and no more power offs.

If you lay the T5 flat, with the display facing the ceiling, you should see the charging port at the top, when viewing the bottom plate. The screw directly to the right of the charging port is the culprit. Make sure that sucker is as tight as can be, and you may not have random power offs any longer. I know I haven't.

    Edit:

Right after I posted this, I did a little experiment. I took the offending screw out, and the T5 would not power on. I then put that screw back in and tightened all the way, it then powered on. Then took the other 2 screws out, and with only that single screw in there, it stayed powered on and worked like a charm. But without that screw, the thing will not power on.

Those of you experiencing powers offs, definitely check that screw!

mine will be here Monday but I don't drip I use an aerotank v1 at 1.2 & 1.5 ohms so I wonder how long it will last I just bought because for the money and 50 watts
compared to expensive hana 30 watt mods ill get into dripping one of these days but for batteries I have all of them except IWRs and Panasonics because I have a mech
I used a kanger aero tank mega one day. I got about all day on a VTC4 batt. 200 puffs? But I used the mini USB charger. Once my nitecore intellicharger i4 gets here I should be able to get 300-400 hits. These have a nasty battery drain right now, but as stated above that is supposed to be addressed in the firmware update on sept 16th. As of now, for battery life u are much better off with an MVP v2 for battery life on that tank.
