Oops. ordered a few lorann's flavorings with my last purchase. caramel, bavarian creme and clove oil. When I got them Today, I looked at the ingredients on clove oil. "natural clove leaf oil" I've read all over these forums that oils are not a good idea. Went to lorann's web site and sure enough "insoluble in water"

I should have known better, but I placed the order from work and was multitasking as usual. I assumed you guys did the research for us and wouldn't sell the "bad" flavorings.

The caramel and bavarian cream are just fine though and I can't wait to try mixing something up ;)

In the mean time, you should consider removing the clove oil from your store... and double check all your flavorings.

I would agree, putting essential oils directly into pg and vg is NOT a good idea, and luckily something that none of us here at Tasty Vapor do.

Blenders Alcohol (190 proof grain alcohol) is fantastic for breaking down oils and allowing proper incorporation into not only PG, but with VG as well.

We never run on here-say, we do research.

jbussa, there is a warning about using oils that they can clog up your atomizer, but so can colored liquids and VG. It's ok to mix with oils, as long as you know how to do it properly. So I would advise that you always check any flavorings you buy to see if they're oil based or water based. And if you find they are oil based, don't buy them. I, personally, haven't tried mixing any of my DIYs with any oil based flavors, but there's many people on this site that do (and yes, that's why Geoff is so awesome, because he knows how to do this :))

And you'll also find a wealth of information on flavorings in out DIY subforum:
