Anyone else seen this? So much misinformation - unbelievable!

"Addiction now comes in its own “e” version: electronic cigarettes. By allowing the user to inhale a vapour in a manner resembling smoking a cigarette, e-cigarettes provide a uniquely appealing means of obtaining nicotine without exposure to the other harmful constituents of tobacco smoke. Their increasing popularity is paralleled by growing controversy over whether e-cigarettes represent a highly promising therapeutic intervention for smoking cessation or a Trojan horse that will allow the tobacco industry to reverse decades of global progress in reducing smoking prevalence......"

CP24 was reporting the CMA as saying that Ecigs well lead younger people to an early addiction, DUH!

I've no problem with putting an age restriction on them. Won't help in reality. But well for our cause........ Simple done deal, and I don't need to be a friggin politician to solve it at over a 100k salary yearly.

Come on Canada wake the frig up, this is growing old fast.

I was very disappointed in the CBC The National's coverage of this story. I have been watching the national since the days of Knowlton Nash. I always put this news broadcast way above the rest in a trust worthy manner. That bit was truly a clone of fox news. The doctor they had on there used words like "may" and "could" cause children to start smoking tobacco. It is all out fear mongering, as there is absolutely no evidence of this. They don't realize that you have to flavor your juice to taste like tobacco, IMO, none of those flavors even taste like tobacco, you can't replicate the taste of tobacco in an e-juice. It is truly nanny state broadcasting and mentality. I wish Peter Mansbridge would interview Dr. Michael Siegel, someone who has expertise in this area, and some halfwit who thinks that flavors are the real problem. I still can't understand why the NSRA (non smokers rights association) can't be happy with the fact people are giving up tobacco for e-cigs, if people aren't smoking, then they're winning. They continue to ignore the studies as they don't promote their point of view. All the NSRA is interested in if "controlling" our behaviour.

The article isn't so bad, the author merely asks for more study on ecigs, which we will all be glad because it will prove, yet again, that ecigs are quite harmless. He doesn't bash ecigs saying they contain anti-freeze like other crappy article talked about.

He do ask that ecigs should be regulated like a pharmaceutical product which would be bad, but, personally, I really don't see this as happening since you can buy all the legal ingredients yourself. It's different from complex chemistry pills that we cannot make ourselves.
