Don't worry about having one if it makes the rest of your day a little easier, I was having a smoke with my morning coffee for the first week, I will say when you find the right set up and juice that morning craving goes away quickly, I found nicotickets the virus got me past my morning craving pretty nicely

no analog....this is hard :( I feel better this morning (not dizzy) but now I am just dying for an analog! I knew this wouldn't be easy and am just praying I have the strength to keep it up! Smoking...it is definitely a LOVE/Hate relationship.

If it was easy we'd all have quit long before vaping came down the street!

Finding the right hardware and flavors and strength can take a bit of time and effort (and well worth it!), and in the mean time, just count the ones you DON'T smoke. It can be a process, not like flipping a switch. And if you keep at it, you'll get to the point when you light up that morning coffee smoke, look at it after the first drag, say something like "arrgh!!) and pick up your vape.

Indeed, love / hate. And for many of us, it's not so much the nic as the ritual.

Hang in there, you're doing fine! :vapor:

It's hard, true, but totally worth it if you can tough it out :) Getting past your biggest smoking "triggers" (such as the morning coffee, after meals, etc) is the hardest part for most of us

If you slip and have a smoke, don't stress over it too much, just keep on trying. The way I see it, every cigarette NOT smoked is a little victory

First couple weeks I smoke about 5 a day. Then the next month I was 1 or 2 a day. Then smokes started tasting horrible and the vape tasted so much cleaner so I just quit smokes. Been smoke free over a year now. Can take time just keep at it. Like others said, just think how many less you smoked that won't kill you. CHEERS!

Okay Mr or Mrs (as the case may be) jgatt.

First things first. Welcome! Just by coming here to look for support and advice you've made another step forward; another step towards being 100% smoke free. Congratulations. That IS a big deal because it means you have realized that there is a better life available and you want that life.

Second. No one on these boards has ever gone through this process perfectly. We strive for perfection in our desire to become non-smokers but it is not easy. It IS a process. It is NOT an event. So if you need to follow a different plan, then follow that plan.

Third. Take an inventory of your triggers (mine were driving and drinking and my morning coffee and my evening coffee and seeing people smoke and seeing people smoke on TV, etc... you get the picture) and use that list to prepare yourself for that cigarette you know you're going to want.
My routine changed to fight the morning cigarette. Instead of coming back from a run and having a leisurely cooldown over coffee and cigarettes, I went right into the shower and cooled down in there. By the time I got out, my craving had (mostly) passed. I had a full dripper of a great morning juice (Chai Latte) and a cup of coffee. Plus, I'd already had my shower so I didn't want to stink myself up for the day to come... :)

Fourth. As you have done already, reach out to these beautiful ex-smokers around these boards and be inspired by their stories and support.

Good luck.
Have a Happy New Year and I'll see you around the boards next year.

Cavenerd's most excellent reply reminded me of my worst trigger which was driving. Quit with the patch, not vaping BTW... At work I was surrounded by coworkers who knew I had just quit and at home I had a higher authority:) But while driving I was totally alone! Snacking helped and I once ate a full one pound bag of Fritos during a 20 minute commute. Gained over 20 pounds in a few months which I later added another 10 to. Proudly back to just a few pounds above my smoking weight!

But to the OP, keep the faith! You will get through this and win! Thousands of cyber friends are here to help.
