coil burned

Did i tightened the screws too much? its a single coil 6wrap fused clapton and it suddenly burned and twisted when i took my third hit on my mutation x v4

did you heat it to make sure it is glowing evenly from the inside to outside of the coil before you put the wick in?

What was the ohm of the coil when you measured it on your ohm reader?
What battery device were you using?
What batteries were in the battery device?

That looks like pretty thick wire (low gauge). You may have over-tightened the post screws so tight that when the coil heated up the heat may have caused the wire to weaken and split apart.

agrees with Baditude.. its a good idea to pre-heat a new coil to see if its gonna warp or snap...
but first, check your ohms

just a hint, you may want to consider using the hole on the center post that is further away from the negative post, it helps keep the coil legs a bit straighter...
