I have an mvp v2 on the way and I was wondering if you could help me figure out what tanks I can use these short single coils from my evod going forward into vaping, the reason I'd like to use them is I am having fun rebuilding and I'm a do it yourselfer so I'd like to keep an infinite rotation of these coils on hand.. I ordered a aspire nautilus mini head just to realize it will use a much harder to service coil so I guess I just would like to know all my options on finding a superior tank to run on my new mod coming, thanks guys!

I think your Evod uses the same coils as the unitank, mini Protank & Protank v2. Someone correct me it I'm wrong.

If this is correct, and you would like to continue using your coils, you could buy one of the above and purchase an airflow control base to convert them into Aerotanks (and still be able to use and rebuild your same coils). Below is a pic of the new airflow control base.

The longer coils will pretty much work on all the kanger full size tanks. My wife is using the aerotank v2 on her vamo and is in love with it. Hell I even like it and im primarily into rebuildables but it delivers a solid vape each time with minimal fuss. She is however using the dual coil heads and I haven't had to rebuild one of those yet. some time soon it should be needing it.

For your MVP I think the best tank for your purpose would be the Kanger Protank2 with an Aerotank base on it. The Aerotank base makes a great tank out of a good one. When I need a pocket size setup I use the Protank2 Mini. These single coil heads rebuild very quickly and work just as well or better than the dual coil heads used in the Aerotank or Protank3. I rewick my single coils about every 3 days with cotton and can get the coil to last over a month easy before I have to make a new one. Do not use the original silica wick for very long because they are hard to get out when they get crusty but do try to keep the original coil as long as possible as these coils have non-resistive leads which I think are better than the coils I make.

awesome, and yeah i rewicked about 6 of my shorty evod coils last night for fun using organic cotton, Holy moly does it make a difference I am 100% certain that cotton absorbs faster and gives better flavor and i have seen increased vapor production.. but while i was taking them apart i noticed some of the silica wicks were almost fused to the coils so i would have to try and pull a few of the string out first so that it got less crowded inside the coils..

Huh?? Aerotank/Evod 2/Evod Glass/Protank 3 coils are NOT compatible with the older single coil tanks and vice versa. If he would've just bought Aerotank coils for his Evods he would be out money right now.

OP- your Evods will work fine, but I find they don't really draw much air. My PT2 Mini is awesome on the MVP though. Just ordered a regular PT2 on Saturday can't wait!!
I don't find the airflow connector necessary at all, but I'd love to get a couple extra Protank Mini bases which I think would solve the Evods weak draw.

Thanks warpig, from what I understand the protank 3 and such use them internal wick coils so ya they wouldt, infact i was talking to a ood friend of mine on the phone last night and i mentioned i was going to maybe buy a kanger style pro tank and he said NOOO DONT i got a protank 3 and it sucks hes like stay away from them.. but i think i read that the protank 2 is a better tank so is there any merit in what he said and if so why?

The Protank 3 has 2 strikes against it for me. Its a dual-coil, so it burns up juice and batteries faster with not much improvement. And, the coils are not rebuildable, like the Protank 2s single coil, once they're gone you throw em out and buy more.

The 2s are starting to show up on clearance when I got mine this weekend. I hope that's not a sign they're going away..

Don't believe the Protanks 2 are going away they are now coming out in new packaging instead of getting two (2) coils you get only one (1). The coils for them the new one use the same coils as the ones in the old packaging. And yes I too noticed the ones in the old packaging are on clearance a good time to pick up a few extras if you like using them. kangertech kanger Clearomizer – KangerTech

I think I have a long way to walk until I'm really thinking about rebuilding

Its not even as hard as you would think. Just started rebuilding mine 2 days ago. My first one wasn't perfect (I was shooting for a tight micro coil) but it came out at 2.0 where I wanted it and worked great.. Only took me til the third one and now the rest I've made are perfect.. 32ga wire though so my coils are SERIOUSLY small but they hit so much better now..

The old Kanger single coil heads work fine in the newer tanks, like an Aerotank Mega. Just be sure to add an extra spacer/seal to the top of the coil, the one that slides over the chimney. If you don't it might leak. That's been my experience.

You are right about the newest coils not working with the older tanks though, you can't screw the base in with one installed.

I have a ton of EVOD tanks, and I just got some PT2s with airflow controllers. I've been rebuilding my coils all summer. I got a couple of Nautis (full-sized and mini) and I LOVE them, but I don't like that I can't rebuild (at least easily.) I think I'm going to get a few more PT2s (strictlyecig.com) with the airflow bases and PIF my EVODs. I'd ordered some EVOD clones from Fasttech this summer, and they have the short chimneys which I find harder to work with, but the heads are fine (especially since I have my own coil and wick in them ;))
