So i have been building coils for the last couple nights for my protanks and a small dripper with much success ,so I went and bought a Nimbus clone to try my hand at dual coils, so I make a 8 wrap out of 28 ga Kanthal wrapped around a 5/64 bit, heat it up and compress it tight ,check it and get 1.8 make the other the same hook them both up and get .6 so I do a little reading and find out they both need to be higher to get that optimal resistance range to work on my SID. I then make 2 more with 12 wraps out of 28 ga Kanthal and got up to 1.1 . My question is do I need to wrap more times ,make a bigger coil,or get some 30 or 32 ga . Another question I wanting to get some mechanical mods is it safe to run clearamizors like protanks, vivi bdc ,Iclear 30B. Thanks in advance for any imput. Bill

30 or 32 ga would be easier to hit your desired resistance without excessive wraps or diameter. You can run clearos, PT-2 or whatever on a mech, just need to be careful with resistance, and use IMR high-drain, high amperage batteries from a reputable vendor. A vape-safe fuse is also a good option on a mech if you're not using sub-ohm coils at high amps...:vapor:
