Hey guys I'm getting an eGrip and since I can't exactly test the coils in that I was wondering what I need to pick up for test firing my coils? I've read about using a torch or regular lighter but have also read the problems those could cause. Anyways any help you could give would be appreciated. Don't really want to buy a vamo or something like an IStick and have that be it's only function.

I have the 700mah 3.5v battery that came with my iTaste but not sure that would work on 1-1.5ohm coils.

No I did order it and That's what made me realize I have no way of test firing the adapter. You have to screw the adapter into something with a 510 connector. Now my itaste 700mah 3.5v battery is 510 but I don't know if that'll work or not especially for coils below it's clearomizers that are rated for 1.8ohm. Other than that I have nothing else to pop the adapter into for firing.

So you recommend getting something like the Vamo/iStick? I have a couple itastes already as backups should something happen to my eGrip. Not the best but eh.

Ty for the quick response.

It would be one thing if the eGrip wasn't an all in one device and I was using something like a Nautilus tank. Since it is I wouldn't have a tank to pop on my backup so that mod would serve no purpose aside from firing/ohm checking. Of course if that's what I got to do than so be it.

Which iTaste? The stock eGrip CS coils are only 1.5 ohm and things like the VV V3 and MVP aren't going to be too happy trying to fire those coils, if they will at all. The MVP 2.0 is only a 15 watt device.

Yeah - that would be bad and can kill the battery.

If the concern is testing the coils and building using the eGrip RBA base you would be better off just getting a quality dedicated ohm checker, especially if you don't want or need another APV at this point. But you also do need the eGrip 510 adapter no matter what you decide to test on.

When it comes to annealing coils and wire - we have a gas range so it's nothing I have to think about here. Just turn on a burner and have at it. However, if you want to fire a coil build in place and see if the coil is firing even and you don't have any hot spots then you will want a 30 watt APV at minimum to accomplish that with eGrip builds. A 20 watt iStick mini might do it - but that doesn't allow for any breathing room - so to speak - at only 20 watts.

Just some points to consider.

Oh Ya trust me I've gone through hundreds of those pages already. Just everyone in that thread either used their on hand mod they previously purchased or a torch. Was hoping I wouldn't need a third vape device that would for the most part only be used to fire my coils. I agree having something like the istick as a backup vs my itaste pen would be better but as I mentioned earlier that entails buying a tank and coils.
