I know what you mean, somtimes I think that the juice has had a bit more steeping than the fresh bottle you get and I think if you play around with your builds and wicking material you might get the results your looking for. Try out a new twisted build or a differnt diameter coils till you find the your sweet spot also what you wick might make a difference. I have found a decent vape with 28 gauge dual twisted coils at .4-.7 on most of my rdas and .7-1.0 ohm ohm on my tanks.

Usually, it's a wicking problem. Don't clog up the juice channels by jamming the wick into them, leave room for the juice to come up the channels into the chamber. Make sure you use the right amount of cotton through the coil...not tight and not loose, just fits into it slightly snug. Cover the air hole with your thumb and give it quick dry puff or two, then watch for an air bubble, that way you know it's feeding juice.

Edited to say, maybe I misread and you're a wicking expert! Is your voltage set right? They might have been pushing it with high power. I like my voltage set about 2.3 or 2.4 over the coil resistance. So for a 1.4 ohm coil, I'll start out at 3.7 volts and go up from there a little until I'm happy.

I have it set at somewhere between 3.6 and 3.8 volts depending on how I'm tasting. I can tell that is where the sweet spot should be based on the taste, but the taste is still not there. I think my wicks are pretty good based on what I've read and the youtube videos I've watched. Its just driving me nuts not getting the flavor I want. Is there anything else I can do to hopefully get a better flavor?

Is the store's mod a nice, high power device or a little ego battery? I know I've tasted some juices at B&M stores on little egos and barely got any vapor, but thought they had promise flavor-wise. When I got them home and used them on my better stuff, they were awful.
they use the little ego ones

If you can't taste it how do you know where the sweet spot of the taste is?

Have you tried turning it up ?

I have never had any luck running low gauge high resistance coils on a reg mod, too much wire to heat effectively on a low watt nod

I can taste it, it just doesn't taste very good. If its lower it tastes like garbage and if the volts are turned up it tastes like garbage.
