I use CE 5 top coil cleros.
When I started over a year ago with a regulated 3.3 V device I used to get 7-10 days with a clearo.
Ever since I got my VV device I've been burning through coils pretty fast. I've been normally at 4.2 V / 7.0 watts. Recently I've enjoyed vaping at about 3.7 V / 5.5 watts. Will this extend coil life as I am not running so hot?

Those coils are easy to rebuild if you're interested in that or all ready doing it.

My failing eyes and fine motor skills are not what they used to be. I also don't have a nice "recoiling" station set up.

I can get away with simply rewicking and dry burning and when I finally burn out a coil, I simply replacement. I have over 25 heads sitting in my drawer awaiting use, so I'm good for quite sometime. I may need more heads in a couple of years.

maybe.. probably not. The problem you're facing is gunk buildup from burnt juice. Even if you cant smell or taste it, some of the juice still gets solidified. The amount depends on temperature extremes in the coil, the lower the maximum temperature the slower the buildup.

Running a lower wattage lowers the average and thus maximum temperature.. however 2 factors compromise the result.
1) Average temp and maximum temp in the coil don't scale linearly, the higher the average temp the smaller extremes become so if for example at 100C, the variation is 20% it could be 30% at 80C. This curve depends on way too many factors to list in this post.
2) The lower power you run the coil at, the longer you need to keep it on for a satisfying hit.
these 2 will make it so that the coil is actually more efficient at producing gunk per vapor.

I was reluctant too, but got a few handy helpers:

(About $23.00 shipped from AMZN)

(About $20 at Lowes)

Plus some nail clippers, tweezers, and cuticle scissors stolen from my wife's excessive stash of such items.

Everything else is "consumables".

Thanks for comments so far.
I don't dry burn. I've tried, but just can't do it. I've tried cleaning in vodka, but the results haven't been good. The coil works better but the taste is about zero. So I've been tossing coils every three days. If I can get 5-6 days from a coil I'd be happy. Was just wondering if trying down the volts / watts would help. I don't chase huge vape clouds. I only chase getting my fix with a pleasant taste. Going down from 4.2 volts to 3.7 volts hasn't been a disappointment, so I was wondering if this might extend coil lifespan.
