I've read on here that the range for optimal vaping is between 4.8 and 8 watts.

Here is my setup:

650 mAh VV battery running at 4.2 volts - 650mAh/900mAh V. V. (Variable Voltage) Batteries with LCD screen for 510/eGO - $21.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail--

Boge 2.0 ohm carto

All juices are 50% pg/50% vg w/24mg of nic

Using an Ohm's law calculator I come up with 8.82 watts. I like my setup as it is running right now. Running at a lower voltage doesn't satisfy me, and using a higher resistance carto doesn't either. I fell like I've found my sweet spot in terms of TH, flavor, and overall satisfaction. What are the consequences of running my PV at this wattage?

A 2 ohm carto on a VV eGo on the high range should be reasonable and not cause any equipment problems. Even though it's advertised as 4.2 volts on the high range it is probably more like 3.7 to 3.8 volts under load to the carto. Probably in the "7 watts" area, but still a reasonable vape.
Especially if you are satisfied with it.

It really won't stay at the 4.2v for very long. (Unless they changed them in recently. batteries are improving by the month.) You most likely will be running it around the 3.7v mark more than you realize. Best thing you can do is buy a voltage meter.
If you chain vape and feel the battery get a little warm, slow down. Usually it's fine on a 2 ohm.

I'm running at a little over 24 watts on my Roughstack. For some reason my 3.7v Trustfire 16340 batteries are running at 8.4v when stacked (and freshly charged). I love it with a 3ohm Boge carto and my usual 5-6 second drags are down to about 2 seconds. I also tried swapping the carto onto my box mod at 6v and the vapor is much hotter on the Roughstack.

Thanks for the replies. I was just worried that I was doing harm to my equipment. That could also explain why my favorite juice always tastes burnt, because it is too thick to wick properly, and slightly burns my carto every time I take a drag. So for that one I will probably buy some higher resistance cartos, or figure out how to thin is out a little.

This is making much more sense to me now. Thanks again.
