Coil master

The only problem with all the coiling devices is that they have predetermined sizes. I have had the Artistic gig in my hand at the store and put it down. I build a lot of Protank coils and try to get the largest coil as possible into the tiny space. I use a 1.82 mm bit that fit perfectly. If I could find a suitable piece of that diameter wire rod I would be all over the Artistic coil gizmo.

I know the coil gizmo i use. The one rod is roughly 1.5mm so it's close and that's the one I use. Because the next size up is close to 3.2mm

I bought the UD coil jig. It comes in a nice case with 1.5 to 4.0 mm. sizes.(in .5mm increments - Working with it is a breeze. Really, the only reason I bought it was that all my rods are now stored proper and have sizes stamped on them. Got it at TriangleVape for 7 bucks. I actually have a bit less waste now using it and less crunching to do after my tight coils are made.

Thanks Dinger; yeah, it would be mostly for protanks (and evods, which are the same exact coil, which is a big reason why I use both, I vape mostly VG liquid and it eats them up quickly, that is probably changing soon thought). A friend of mine came over tonight to show me his and let me play with it.....insert giggle here....and it was pretty cool!!!
I like not wasting wire, hated using the coiling gizmo. Gotta love simplicity.

You should check out the new subtank and subtank mini; they finally designed a coil head made for rebuilding.
and btw, the first thing you should do about those protank and evod coil heads is just dryburn and rewick them with cotton when the get gunked up; you'll get 10 times more life out of them

I've tried the Artistic Coiler, and didn't like it. It seems like making a mountain out of a mole hill, for me. I can wind a coil on a drill bit in a pin vise just as well, with less waste, and quicker.

I've had mine for a few weeks now, and I find it to be quite handy. I have two other coil gizmos - the Qvapes coiler and the Micropuck. I think the Coil master is "better" for me because it takes fewer steps to turn out a coil.

Hate mine. Find the lighter wire wants to coil over the wound wire sometimes. I like the boxie style and torch them. CHEERS!

Yup. They need a version with a spring loaded cam (or something along those lines) rather than a choice of two screw positions for maintaining tension on the coil.

I got my Coil Master kit at 88evapes. With my contact lenses out, (I'm really nearsighted!) I saw that the little heads you wrap the wire around ARE labeled with the diameter!

Love this kit. Builds a perfect coil every time. I was building 2.0 diameter coils - found that a 2.5 diameter coil is a lot easier to wick and takes a couple less wraps to hit my .6 ohm sweet spot.

How are the sizes compared to drill bits. Is 20 a 2mm drill size

Never used a coil jig before but wanted to make life a bit easyer so I just ordered this UD coiler. Hope it works well.
