Coil Question

I got my first mesh wick and coil set up on my Cobra. I was able to get all the coils in contact with the mesh to light up at the same time, so no hotspots there. When it has juice going to it, none of them light up, but the small piece of wire leading to the top post does. Is this supposed to happen? I've fiddled around with it and cant get it to stop. I wasn't sure if this causes a harsher hit, so I thought I would take it to the forum.

Thats a common short area. might be a little bit to much a distance from the last coil to the positive post. try to bring it just a bit closer to the positive post.
