Replace the coils when they either taste foul or stop producing as you expect them to. It varies widely based on wattage/voltage, juice, length of pull, frequency of pull, etc...

I fill my tank when it's empty... but hopefully before the coil is burned...

I see. Well I have my DOVPO mini 7.5 set at 1.09 ohms at 18.5 watts. Right now I've got a darker 12 mg juice in the tank. I'd say on average I'm pulling on it 7 or 8 times every half hour or so. Pull length about 10 seconds or so. I'm nervous that I may be using it too often and I don't have the means to replace the coils and such for probably another week and a half or so.

I rewick and clean my coils as soon as the color looks light brown. Lately I've been refilling twice a day, so about 10 mls. The less flavor used in the eliquid the longer the cotton will last. With unflavored I get about two weeks for cotton and 2 months out of a coil. From30 to 60 watts.
Okay so based of your usage difference compared to mine, I'd say I'm probably good for a few weeks.

If its a TFV tank(TF-R1) then refill as soon as the juice level gets to the top of the chimney. You have to find the sweet spot between the coil and power so your vaporizing the juice and not just boiling(too low power) or burn the juice(too high power). In a lot of cases the darker the juice the faster it gunks up the coil or if your juice turns super dark while inside the atty usually means your coil is gunked up and your heating the metal around and caramelizing the juice, don't save the darkened juice it'll just ruin all the new juice you put in. Lots of factors to when to change the coil, most times you will just know. There are many commercial juices that are packed with sweeteners that give you anywhere from a few hours to several days before coil degrading becomes noticeable. I DIY my juices without sweetener and get couple weeks plus on a rayon build and yet I have some commercial juice I had to cut in order to vape and get a few days before my coil dies. The sweeter the juice the less vape time you get from a coil.
