Banning vaping for no good reason is not cool with me and I say so when that is an issue. In this case
you're not 'getting it'. If you work in an environment that is explosive and you want to vape there, that's just not safe. If you know something that I don't about your work environment that changes this, please tell us.
A little story.
Here in NH, plumbers used to install LPG lines for residential heating in rural areas with no public natural gas service. In the town of Moultonboro one such line was installed several years ago at a new home. The family moved in to their new home, and everything seemed happy.
What no one knew at the time was that there was a pinhole leak in the line. One calm, windless summer day, the leaking lp gas built up a blivet in a natural bowl formed in the back yard. When the blivet ignited, it damaged the back of the house, and took the family's four year old daughter with it. No one really knows what the source of ignition may have been, but from the scorch and force patterns of the explosion, fire experts are quite sure that's what happened.
That's the level of tragedy it took to mandate gas line certification in the state of NH.
I can appreciate that it bugs you being told you can't vape at work. I think Ryedan would agree that sucks, and is usually cause for at least some pushback. However, if you aren't going to bother considering opinions contrary to the one your obviously wanted to hear, why bother framing your little snit fit as a question?
