Welcome and glad you joined.
Been a member a while and never seen this problem, might be a good idea to not let it happen again.
but am I ok if it happened once?
Funny, most of use ex smokers ingested some of the worst cancer causing chemicals (Me more than most) known to man and are always wondering if some small snafu is going to hurt us.

Hey everyone I'm new to this but i recently had a problem. I noticed after a rebuild on my royal hunter RDA that the coil took the color off the spot it was touching. I know that's not a good thing but am I ok if it happened once? What are these RDA painted with? Hopefully heat friendly?
I don't think it was touching or you would have a short.

It may have been close but it didn't short out on you

If I am understanding you correctly, your coil touched the deck or cap? This could easily have caused a hard short to the battery. I hope you know how dangerous that could be to the battery.

I strongly suggest that you measure your battery's voltage coming out of the mod (discharged) and coming off of the charger (charged) to insure that it is still viable/healthy. If the voltages are out of the ordinary, stop using the battery and replace it.

Is that the silver RH? or painted gray? Clone or authentic? Post some pics of what you're seeing. I have the silver RH but haven't had any issues with heat wear to the inner walls (I am ssuming this is what you're referring to, as you would have had some problems firing with the coil(s) touching the sides). If painted grey, they shouldn't have coated the inside at all, but if so, it was probably some over spray. vaping paint is probably not great but as @BrotherBob points out, we were smoking way worse chemicals in the 'logs.
