ok, untill now i was fine with my smok 220 but all of a sudden since i swapped coils its been heating up, the first coil it started on was a smok coil @ 0.17 @ 70 watts and the temp was creeping up in the 40's,its hot too touch just after a couple of vapes, i wasnt chain vaping it, so i swapped batteries 25r's for a freshly charged pair, and changed to a new coil 0.15 @ 100 watts but yet again i see it creep up i let it stand for abit then re-tryed it Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

Are you referring to the board temperature? That's normal to go up with use. When you say too hot to touch do you mean holding the mod or touching the tank?
the tank getting hot,and the board temp, its allways stayed under 30,ive never had this problem with the past coils, and tbh its never gone over into the 40's

Smok offers coils that have a lot of metal in them. That means they get hot, and dissipate that heat slower than the average tank (other than the other huge could tanks). I have a Big Baby Beast, and even that can get too hot to touch after a few draws. As to the board temp, are you using it in an area where the ambient temperature is higher than normal? Running at 100W will heat up the interal board a bit and I don't think 40C is all that terrible,. And have you ever popped your batteries out to see if they're getting hot as well?

Also, nice looking wrap you put on there.

The flavor all comes from the tank/coil/build. The mod just powers it. I like the flavor and performance that comes from temp control, but plenty are fine with wattage mode. If you're looking to add another mod as a just because (always good anyway in case the one(s) you have break, could range from a single Pico type mod, works well and cheap, the Smoant Charon that's gotten really nice reviews, the new Vaporesso Revenger, and oodles more. Head on over to the APV/regulated mods part here for loads of threads on different mods.

Where is the wrap from, jwrap? I'd like one of those for my AL85.

If you like the vapor and flavor at 60w, you can stay there if you want, but it will shorten your batteries' charge life. It will also shorten your coil life, increase your juice consumption and shorten the useful life of your equipment.

We all have our sweet spot, and we all have to make a tradeoff here and there to get it.

Yes as long as your mod can run low enough to read a MTL resistance coil and low enough watts, it should be easy to just try another tank on there. There are a couple threads running fast about "best MTL tank" so that might be a good place to look for suggestions. I run a Nautilus 2 on a Steampunk which seems crazy, but I love not having to change my batteries more than every couple days.

The Nautilus 2 comes with a 1.8 coil and a 0.7 coil, they are quite different but I like both of them, and will alternate vaping these coils, as I do enjoy the really tight MTL experience of that coil, but I also enjoy the flavor and relative lack of gunking on the 0.7 coil, which can easily be MTL with low enough watts and the right airflow. People are also saying nice things about the NaughtyX which comes with an extender kit and other stuff to maximize your vaping experience. I haven't purchased this tank yet, but I very well might at some point. Listopencil is the expert on this one, it seems. :)
