So I just got a mini trophy tank and a guy at mad vapes helped me rebuild and put in a better coil.
It is reading at 1.4 ohms and works really good but I wasn't sure as to how low of a resistance you can go on
the mvp 2 before a possible issue?
It should fire down to 1.1Ω, and then no way. I'm currently running a 1.3Ω coil in a Protank II at 10 watts and it could probably handle more. I might switch it over to my Zmax mini and see if it can handle 15 watts.
Pretty sure 1.2 ohms is the cutoff point at which it shuts down and refuses to fire. Keep in mind the closer you push your builds toward the cutoff limit the greater the chances are you start running into problems if the coil resistance fluctuates even a small amount. It can get real frustrating if you land in "the zone" with a coil that fires one time, won't fire the next time etc. An APV is doing this for a reason - to prevent damage to it's own electronics.
Not below 1.2...I tried it on my revision that was bought in Nov 2013...Lowest coil I used is 1.2

That did happen to me with kayfun 1.2 build...above 1.2...no issues
1.4 is fine on the MVP 2. I have fired mine down to a 1.2 resistance, but then on a variable power mod, to what end? If I turn up the voltage I can get more than enough "pop" from a 1.8 - 2.2 ohm tank.

Well folks, I just built a twisted 32 ga., 5 wraps on a 1/16 drillbit that reads 1.1Ω on my ohmmeter and the MVP II reports 1.0Ω and that bad boy fires and vapes quite nicely at 11 watts in a Protank II. My Zmax mini won't fire it.
Everyone needs to be aware that the current limit on the MVP board forces the device to "lie". At the resistance ranges below 1.6 ohms or so..the device will not fire much above 3 volts, if that. Its been shown this is true on most devices. Its why folks switch over to mech mods.Check out performance charts on Phil Busardo's videos and you will see what I mean. Regardless tho....if you like the vape then all is well!
