I'm not fond of any of the colors except black. I haven't seen any in person, but it concerns me how the hues looks different in various lighting. I also get bored quickly, so keep them covered anyway. I have two minis, a 2.0 and a 2.5, both in satin silver and am very pleased with them. I like the neutral color.

I think the selling point of the mini is the size options. You can make the mini bigger, but you can't make the full-size smaller. I didn't order the extension cap when I got my first mini, assuming I would buy one later, but I've had no desire to. I like the size and just make sure I have extra batteries around.

I got the cap after the fact. I like it a bit longer....and I mean that in the nicest (most virtuous) possible way!

/wave Hi Ocelot! Loved your video of hot swapping cartos by the way. I will have to give that one a try.

I have a local B&M that carries all the colors. I liked the purple in real life better than pics, but I wish the blue were more of a cobalt color, I think it's a little dull. The zombie is bright and would be fun, it's just not practical for me for daily use as I tend to match my pv with my outfit.

Right now I have the regular silver one. If I were to pick up a second, I think I'd probably do the black with blue led, or the red.

I have a purple one and it is kind of blah. I really like the satin silver one. The white is nice too but I tend to have dirty hands so I'd have to clean it more often. But that's my problem.

The only reason to get the full size one is bigger batteries. Or maybe hand size. The mini might be small for guys with big hands.

I love the way the Mini fits in my L-XL hand. :thumb: I would have ordered polished SS, but it's been out of stock. I went with satin silver. It's very nice... a bright, light silver and I love it! :) Color is off in the photo, reflecting yellow from the oak table...

You could always start a fashion trend by dressing like a zombie.

Really, two would be better. Just in case you're mowing the lawn and it drops......well, I just can't bear to bring it up.....:nun:

Lol, don't tempt me. I recently saw a killer pair of zombie heels. :)

In an ideal world, I would own all the colors of Provari, but damn if this PV isn't so well made that I really only need one. :p

I put the 134 in this picture for a size comparison.

On the left is a black mini with The Twins and Hippo. Middle one is a bronze mini with no adornment. Right is a standard silver.

I got the silve one first, and swore I would never use smaller batteries than 18650. I then decided I needed all sizes, so I got the bronze mini. I got the black mini a few days ago.

I find that I use the minis the most, including for work. On the V2.5 I do not like the crop circles on the standard.

Have you seen the latest semi-clones? Timeless Vapor is selling them.

I must be outa my freakin mind. Just ordered a Zombie Mini, with extension. And red display (goes with the blood splatters right?), (plus I already have a green display on my bronze Provari).

I never use the extension on my full size Provari, so doesn't it make sense to make the next one a mini?

best regards, larry mac

I'm trying to decide the same thing... color...

I am trying to decide between a Zombie mini and a regular silver (is that the 'stainless' you guys are talking about?).

If the coating is Cerakote, and it's that tough... why do I see pix of Provari with some teeny chips taken out? I don't think they're dirt. That made me think the painted surfaces were really easy to chip. Is that true?

But... if it's stainless, it can rust. SS 316L rusts in high humidity (keeping it on a 100% humidity Florida porch for example), EVERYTHING metal rusts on the porch, and the Cerakote would prevent that on the exposed body. Has anyone experienced rust on theirs at all?

What happens if you high polish the Satin? Is the Chrome a plating (which can wear off over time like anything plated), or is the chrome actually the SS high wheel-polished? Ie., if you high polish the body, would it look like the top and bottom caps (are those plated?)?

Sorry for the dumb questions!! Thanks:)!!

To my knowledge, the silver is not "painted". The new "high-polished" stainless is just that, highly polished stainless steel. You can buff out any scratches yourself.

The satin colors are painted with a tough carokote paint; this is used with some fire arms too. It is a more durable surface than powder coated paint surfaces. If abused, yes it will chip. No painted surface is immune to all types of physical abuse.

You would not want to polish the satin colors, it would ruin the carokote paint surface.

The threading on the end caps are bare metal. An anti-oxidant like Noaloxx should be applied to the threads on a routine shedule to prevent oxidation and possible locking up of the metal threads.

Baditude, do you know what the difference between Noaloxx and WD-40 are? WD-40 prevents rust too (and I conveniently have that already:p).

I know not to polish the painted ones:p. Since that's raw SS, then you can buff out any rust or scratches, except for dents.

Just looked at the full size Provari, and you are right! It's called Polished Stainless Steel, not Chrome! I was only looking in the mini section, and they didn't have it, and I recall it being named 'Chrome', so wondered if it was plated Chrome. Thanks!!

I sure hope you're not going to be keeping your new ProVari on the porch all the time. :) Is it rust or oxidation that you're getting on 316L stainless steel? 316L will develop an oxidation that needs to be cleaned off regularly but it's almost imperious to rust. Buildings and boats are built using 316L stainless steel because of the non-rust factor.
