The fox fire mushrooms I was referring to in no way are radioactive. I have studied them for many years. Their glow should not be mistaken for fluorescence, phosphorescence or refraction of light, which are all radioactively related. Their luminosity is attributed to Luciferins and their reaction to another non-radioactive element, which emits a bluish-green hue.

Although in most cases Dalton would be correct...if it glows ... it usually is radioactive!

Ahhh yes... you are correct. I mistook the decay of luciferin as being equal to elemental decay. The trick here would be keeping the reaction between luciferin and luciferase going, long after it has been introduced to eliquid ingredients and bottled. Not to mention what its effects on the respiratory system might be.

that is what I thought. Like my mentor always tell me, "There is no such thing as an original thought. If you thought about it, you better believe someone out there is thinking the same thing.

Unless you are Steven Hawking or some String Theorist ...... who comes up with that stuff???

In isolated lab testing we have managed to keep the effect going for a few minutes in a suspension liquid... but alas... it fades out rather quickly. Further..the taste is out right nasty. You'd have to be barking mad to eat them voluntarily... let alone smoke them in a ... or inhale them in any way. They've a peyote type taste to them... so definitely acquired taste!

Most of these comments are cool, and some even helpful. But I found one to be, well, prudish is the only word I can think of. This "industry" will never be accepted by EVERYONE.
With or without color vapor, we'll still be the black sheep. What is wrong with a thought? lol I thought it was pretty stinkin' neat and would try it if it were deemed healthy. I'm trying to impress NOONE and, having lived with LycanHound for 3 years, I'm pretty sure I can speak on his behalf too. If e-cigs are banned because of a puff of purple smoke. So be it. Pot is illegal correct? People still have "connections". I will always vape. No matter what.

Can you imagine the stir colored vapor/smoke would cause? I mean, it's already something of an uphill battle to clue people in to the fact that what were doing is 'healthy'. And then some gob comes along blowing purple haze out at the mall...yeah, that'll do wonders for this industry.

Yeah, but....but....it would be sooooo coooool! Hmmmm, purple haze.....

I've never been accused of saying anything prudish in my life. That's cool. I can now say that I have.

I thought my take on most non-cognoscenti being even more taken aback by strange colors exuding from the orifices of magic wand waving pseudo-smokers was appropriate and not biased in any way or judgmental. Plus, how many people can intentionally allude to purple haze and be stuffy about it?

Prudish, appropriate, one in the same :)
lol
It's just my opinion (and you know what they say about those things) that it was, kinda, prudish. I mean why does anyone vaping purple have to be a "gob"? My Mother always said "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" (shrugs) I can appreciate everyone wanting to prove these things are healthy, but IMO it's a lost cause. At least until the big cigarette corporations come out with their own e-cigs. Catch my drift. So, therefore, I don't care if you're the Pope (no religious bashing inteded here) I'd blow my purple smoke wherever and whenevr and I'd do it proudly. What cigarette somoker can say that? lol
Peace?

Neither bioluminescence nor phosphorecence nor floresence are due to radioactivity. While the latter two can have a radioisotope as it's power source(tritium gunsights) the light source is chemical reaction. Some energy source kicks an electron into a higher and unstable orbital which decays back down... and releases the pent up energy as visible light.
