Hello all.

Haven't been here in awhile and I admit, it's refreshing coming back to see so many people who have kicked the habit that's still lingering in my life. I bought a nice set up about a year ago. Kicked the smokes for about 4 months and then, unfortunately, picked them back up..

My previous setup was:
Mini Vivi Nova
1000 mAH Stainless eGo-c Twist

I thought this was the perfect set up for me and I plan to get back into using it again. Unfortunately, one of the bigger reasons I ended up picking the smokes back up was because of their consistency compared to my ecig. To clarify: I'm not really sure what the correct terminology is, but it seemed like the head was possibly going bad on my tank. At the time, I wasn't aware of the need to change those. So I chalked it up as a loss and bought a pack of smokes.

To make a long story short, I am now going to get it fixed up and officially kick the smokes (again).

What I need: Advice and possibly links to the parts that I need to replace. I was trying to read up on this but it sounds like there are different "generations" of tanks which require different heads. I'm not sure what generation I have so I'm not sure how to move forward. Or if that even matters? Please help! Trying to get away from this stinky habit!

THANK YOU!!

Welcome back.

Fellow relapse club member here. More times than I care to count.

The simplicity and consistency of cigs is hard to beat, but a dedication to quit and a decent setup will help a lot.

Good luck on your journey. Hopefully someone with experience with your setup can offer some guidance.

Added note:

In my last, so far successful, attempt to quit smoking, I found a transition, where I allowed myself to smoke and vape, was very helpful. You don't have to go cold turkey if you don't want.

I love my Nova's. Do you know if yours is the genuine one? I buy my replacement heads (genuine nova) from the same place I buy the Nova system. GotVapes carries them. I probably could get them cheaper elsewhere, but just knowing it is the correct head is priceless for me.

If you can post a picture of what you have, that will help us to determine what it is. The replaceable head is the clue.

Hi and welcome back!

The best advice I can give you is: Don't count your failures by the cigarettes you smoke, count your successes by the ones you don't smoke!

As for your gear, I would go to a local shop (if you have one nearby) and ask them to get the right coils for you (at least the first time), then you will know exactly which ones to order in the future. As already suggested, the other option would be to purchase a new tank and then you wouldn't have to guess which parts are for what tanks ... If you go this route, I have heard that the iClear tanks are awesome, and I can personally recommend the Kanger Protanks and iSmoka BCC tanks. As always though ... YMMV!

Good Luck, HTH!

Don't think you're alone in relapsing! A lot of us are fighting the same battle and crawling out of the pit we stumbled into!

I have eGos with CE4s and mini Protanks for stealth vaping and the APVs/mechs with RBAs for home. Find a sale and stock up on whatever works best for you! Good luck and hang in there!

First, you aren't coming back from the darkside. The darkside is the people who want to ban e-cigs.

From what little info you have given, buying anything that has replaceable heads and the heads themselves would be fitting for you. If you just want to replace the heads of what you have, as mentioned already, we need to identify what you have (possibly through pictures). Depending on where you live you might be able to walk into a brick and mortar store and show them what you have.

Appreciate all the immediate feedback! As of now, I think my plan of attack is going to be ordering some new tanks and some replacement heads so I can avoid the situation I found myself in before. So, I really love the Mini Vivi Nova's size. As I said earlier I'll be using the 1000 mAH Stainless eGo-c Twist, can anyone give me links to genuine Mini Vivi Novas and replacement heads that will fit that battery?

Like others have mentioned you are not alone. Finding the right setup involves a lot of trial and error. It took me 3 months to come as close to a cigarette as possible. The struggle was tough, but it became a mind over matter thing and persistence. I've smoked for over 25 years and since coming across vaping I have absolutely no desire to pick up another cigarette.

By being a member of this forum you'll acquire a lot of support. All, if not most, of us have been there.

Some suggestions as far as types of tanks from my experience are if you like the pull of a cigarette go with a cartomizer tank or an original Vivi Nova. If you don't care an atomizer or clearomizer will work fine, but are a little more airy. Check your nicotine level. As far as I understand 24mg is a full strength, 18 is a medium and 16 is a light. Start high and work your way down until it satisfies your needs.

As you may or may not know there are so many choices and options which is pretty overwhelming. Good luck with everything man. We're here for ya!

As other folks who've replied here in the thread, there are several ways to go about this.

I had issues with top coil units, not everyone does, but I did. Cartomizers leaking and gurgling, CE4s and Vivi Novas not vaping well, for me at least. Then I found the Aspire BDC units and I haven't looked back. Regardless of whether or not they're the Vivi Nova style Aspire or the ET-S units, they all vape very well. Lots of vapor, warm vape, good TH and so on.

Perhaps you might want to try one or two just to see how they work for you. Regardless, I hope you find an atomizer unit that works for you and is a satisfying vape.

Good Luck!

I would suggest evod clearomizer. Very similar to the Vivi nova and sits nice on an ego. It is simple. Buy 2 of them from a vendor that you like. You will need to replace the wick part every now and then but they are not as expensive as the initial investment. When a change is needed, easy, rinse out the reuseable parts and switch out the wick part. It is easy to tell when a change is needed. It slows down on the vape production.

There are a few other items that work similar to the afore mentioned. I have no experience with them so I wont comment.

Any good suggestions?

First...like others have said.... dont look at a relapse as a failure! The only failure you would have is if you didnt TRY! I have been trying on and off for 10 years now, and vaping has worked the best so far. While I relapsed myself (was a 2 pack a day smoker, and am now down to less than 10 a day) its been a LOOOOONG fight, almost 3 yrs now. Some it works instantly, some it takes time, and for everyone its a matter of just setting your mind to it (Im guilty here.... hence the 3yrs).

To your orginal question... I have used many devices and attomizers. Vivi Novas, iclear 16's and 30's (which are pretty good), cartos and carto tanks, HH357 attys, 301 LR atties.

You know what worked the BEST for me.... Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers. I found a thread in the REOSMODS forums (in suppliers) about using micro-coils and cotton (yes cotton balls). I went out and got a IGO-W and some CVS organic cotton... and let me tell you...best tasting vape I have ever had! Flavor is increased 100%, vapor production WAY increased, and..more importantly NICOTINE delivery way up. I have had to step down to 18mg from 36mg because 36 was making me sick to my stomach!

Here is a good link to how to do micro coils and use cotton http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html

There is a bit of a learning curve but in just 2 attempts and an hour of work I was sold on Rebuildables. Not only do they make you vape better in every way, but for just pennies :2c: you can change flavors or replace your wick and coil. I can now rewick my atty for a new flavor in 3 min or less, and once every 2-3 weeks make a new coil and rewick in 10 min or less. WAY cheaper than new heads, and taste SOOOOO much better.

The IGO-W can be googled and bought for $13-19.

If you do find you dont mind the Rebuildable scene, then I cannot stress enough how wonderful the Reo is when coupled with the RM2 attomizer. Both sold on the REOs mods site. Basically the reo mod feeds juice from a bottle inside the mod into your attomizer so you dont have to drip.

Sorry so long winded here. To summarize I have used the ViVi Nova..and while not bad...it did not hit the spot for me. Rebuildable, with a little work on your part, is a FAR superior vape (to the point where I think IM ready to put down the 10 cigs a day or less that I still smoke) this comming holiday.

Feel free to contact me or Super_X (the author of the attached thread above and a super nice guy) and we would be happy to help you out!

Good luck!! :vapor:

GotVapes, I know, carries the genuine Nova. For cleaning, I rinse in very hot water. Taking everything apart. Because I have so many spare heads, I let them air dry. Once a week, I dry burn all those that need dry burning. About once a month, I put all heads (without the silicone cap thingy) in a cup with a polident tablet and boiling water. Let soak for a while (I have forgotten them for a day . No damage) rinse in very hot water with a mesh strainer (so they don't accidentally go down the drain).

Which reminds me....time to do that again.

Every part of the nova can be rinsed off with very hot tap water. Do not soak anything other than the piece with the wick and coil in the polident.
