I've been lurking around for several weeks and figured it was time to pop my head up and say Hi! I smoked for 40+ years...1 1/2 to 2 PAD or more these last several years. Around the first week of June I stopped in the local smoke shop (where I don't usually go), for a carton of my old buddies Salem ultra lights and saw that they had ecigs in the display case. I'd seen commercials but didn't know anything about them, so I asked the lady to show me one. The starter kit was only $19.95, so I got one, thinking maybe I'd cut back a bit and save some money.

Well, a month later I had four cigs left in the 9th pack from the carton, astounding since I used to go through a carton a week. I smoked one...it tasted horrible. I smoked another just to make sure it tasted horrible...it did. I threw the last two and the last pack away and never looked back. Then I started to do a bit of research online and found this forum. From here I found the Volt, and I think I might be Smokeless Image's new poster child...5 orders in 6 weeks ! I may want to upgrade in a bit but for now I'm loving my Volts and finding new juices from different vendors.

You lurker you! lol. Glad you quit lurking and came out of the shadows :) Volt is a really great start. I have it also. Mind you I have alot of other stuff but it's a nice start and much better than what I'm sure you probably bought at that smoke shop. Just remember, if you ever feel that you are not getting satisfied say about 2 months or so down the road and need more of an umph in your chest, don't give up. Move on and upward to another unit. I do still carry the volt in my purse for certain public situations. But I have to admit when I'm all alone and sitting in my recliner, I don't. Sorry. But I started on a much worse cig look-alike and I wish I had the volt when I did, and I still got off the cigs. So glad you introduced yourself. Best of luck to you! I smoked 30 years and nothing worked for me before. I love vaping even more than real cigs. Every once in awhile I will try a cig and I just can't do it. That is amazing to me. Makes me want to kick myself that I was so hooked on them.

Welcome. I almost had to read this twice. I thought someone was telling my story better than I could. Some of the names and places are different but that't it. I figure if it works for people like us it can work for anybody. Congratulations!

Congratulations on quitting! I am about 3 1/2 weeks of no analogs. I started with the Blu Cigs. I know, I fell for it like a sucker. I bumped up to an Ego after research. A little bigger than the Volt, which I believe is the same or close size to the Joyetech 510's. I have those too. I've heard good stuff about the Volt as well.

Now that I started vaping, I'm definitely hooked. Tastes a lot better too!

Glad to hear somebody else made it past the "Blu" disappointment! I'm at about 6 weeks now and have gone to another 510 knockoff, got scammed on an Ego I bought in a shopping mall and now am just a day away from the ProVari :)

Really, really want a ProVari! Just a got a Varitube X, which should be a arriving tomorrow. I think next purchase will be the ProVari. Only hear great things about it.

I admit, I am not saving any money buy quitting analogs, due to me constantly trying new juices, and setups, etc.......But I am 5 months analog free and could not be happier. I'd spend even more money on e-cig supplies if I absolutely had to if it meant I'd stay off the real thing. I congratulate you on your success, feels pretty good doesn't it? :)

Oh yes it does. I went for a long bicycle ride yesterday and I wasn't limited by my breathing capacity anymore. I had to slow down because my muscles were hurting and I wasn't nearly out of breath. When I smoked, I had to concentrate on breathing and sometimes I felt like I was lacking oxygen. I became light-headed when I climbed long hills or just when I pushed too hard. I was already performing quite well for a smoker due to my ability to focus on breathing well and my genetics. But now the effort can be concentrated on the legs and on the management of the lactic acid.
