As I approach the two month anniversary of my first vaping experience – I would like to take a moment to look back and offer my still newbie views, rants and raves. I began on this path as a means to find a safer alternative to smoking cigarettes and I am pleased to say that I am very happy in that regard. So with that in mind – please remember that I began vaping to “replace” cigarettes.

Mods vs. “Cigalikes” – Given my opening comment on replacing cigarettes in my life – I think that Mods are fantastic. I didn’t want anything that smelled, tasted or looked like a cigarette. My current daily vapers are the Vamo v5 – iTaste MVP and the iTaste VV3.0 with Kanger Uni-Tanks on everything. I may switch to the Pro series as they are Pyrex instead of plastic, but I am in no hurry to purchase another 4 to 6 tanks.

Variable voltage/wattage – Maybe I am missing some point on this but I see nothing exciting about going variable. Again – for me the purpose was a replacement of something else. I can get all the vapor I want from a good battery and clear-o-miser like the EVOD or eGo. I prefer the Mods I have though because they look less like a cigarette and have (typically) longer battery life.

Mega Clouds of Vapor – Really??? Weren’t we offensive enough as smokers? Maybe it’s just me – but I just can’t see calling that much attention to myself just to then try and explain “It’s not smoke!”

Flavored e-Liquids – For me, this has been perhaps the best part of my vaping experience. I have since been bitten by the DIY bug and have a few personal favorites that I now use. Cinnamon Bun & Vanilla Butter Nut being at the top of the list. Soon I will be making my liquids from an Organic base that will be 70/30 Organic VG & Distilled Water. Making my own juice has been the best part of my experience so far.

In closing – I am very excited to finally be at a point where I have spent less on my vaping experience than I would have spent on the old habit. I enjoy this a lot more – have regained some lung capacity – I cough almost never – and the house doesn’t smell like a pool hall from the sixties.

Keep Calm & Vape On.

Hi!

The only point of VV/VW is flexibility. Kanger heads - for what they are and what little they cost - will have variations in the build and their resistance. The ability to change voltage or wattage is just a way to tweak the performance from one coil to the next. Also, a coil when it's brand new works very well at a much lower voltage than one that has been in use for several days. With time you need to bump the voltage up to compensate for the wick and coil getting mucked up. Lastly different flavorings - for better and for worse - taste different with a slight change in voltage, and the consequent change in heat applied to the liquid. It's just a tool to get you the best experience you can have. That's all.

Mark Anthony - I couldn't agree more. I am also into Ham radio and there are a lot of folks in that hobby that try to push their ideas on everyone else also. I only hoped to speak to my own observations and how they affect me. I've been clean & sober for 25 years also and no two people get sober the same way either. Everyone has to do things their own way. I just wanted to share with others.

I know how VV & VW works also - I only was sharing that "for me" and the way I vape this is what works for me. Yes too - different liquids vape better at different settings - so maybe I do have a need especially since I am getting into DIY. I have noticed that some of my concoctions need a little more UMPH - especially if I loose count when adding the flavor drops HAHA.

Anyway - great comments one and all - I find it a pleasure to be surrounded by such wonderful people as I have found here at the eCig Forum.

Keep up the great work everyone - stay calm and VAPE ON!

Congrats! you are on your way! before you know it, you will be posting here about your 2 years :)

Another point of VV/VP is when you use rebuildabes. Personaly i find that some liquids taste better at diferent power settings. For example, i vape most of my tobacco flavors arround 8watts. But when i put on some chocolate, capuccino, cherry, etc. I like to turn it down to about 7W. I get a "cleaner" flavor.

I love my rebuildable atomizers, not for the ammount of vapor they produce, but because the taste they provide. I never had a clearo / carto give me the same ammount and purity of flavor my RDAs give me.
