From Analog to Blu to Vea to iTaste SVD...

What’s going on all you crazy kids (I say kids because even while I’m creeping up on 40, I’m still a Toys R Us kid).

I have lurked over the past seven months and just wanted to introduce myself get involved in the vaping community like I am with the Android and Audi communities. It’s amazing at how helpful the community can be. Especially when it’s something they are passionate about.

I started vaping Blu and that only lasted for a month or two. I then started vaping the Vea (Johnson Creek). Just yesterday, I ordered the iTaste SVD. The Blu helped with the nicotine fits. The Vea helped with the nicotine and vaping experience. I’m hoping the iTaste SVD will give me an even better vaping experience.

I originally stopped smoking analog cigarettes (I've cheated a few times since March) and came to vaping for the health benefits. Plus I personally cannot stand the taste or smell of analog cigarettes. I have been a very long time shisha (aka hookah) smoker and vaping is just as much as enjoyable as smoking shisha (even better since there isn’t set up and clean up like smoking shisha).

I have only tried two different e-juice brands (Ginger’s E-Juice and Top Vapor) and am extremely open to any suggestions the community has. I tend to gravitate towards the sweet and dessert flavors as I stated above, I can’t stand the smell and taste of tobacco. I would truly appreciate any recommendations for a “rose” flavored e-juice. That was my absolute flavor of shisha.

I think my next purchase will be a "Pipe Mod" just for the aesthetics of it.

Now if I can only stay away from smoking analog cigarettes, then I will be a happy camper...

Heh, vaping has its own intrinsic rituals which I'm sure you'll become accustomed to soon enough. Cleaning, testing, coil wrapping, and DIY juices if you're into that. Oh! AND SHOPPING. :D

Originally I started vaping, like most, as an alternative to get away from analogs. Little did I know how much I'd enjoy the hobby and practice of vaping by itself. Congrats on your switch and may you have many happy vapes in your future friend.

I would truly appreciate any recommendations for a “rose” flavored e-juice. That was my absolute flavor of shisha.

I'm only mentioning this because, off hand, I know the vendor I purchase juice from makes a rose flavored juice as well as a lemon rose. They use all organic/USDA certified flavorings and ingredients. Pretty much every bottle I've bought from them has been stellar with minimal steeping involved, although you may have to request extra flavor depending if the batch is older or newer (Newer = ask for extra flavor), but this also depends on what flavor you're getting as well.

Organic Bed of Roses E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Highly recommend you snag a sampler pack. I haven't tried Bed of Roses myself yet, not sure if I will, but one of the flavors I get from them has a distinct lavender smell/taste and it's quite pleasant.

Hi and Welcome :)

If you dig strawberry hookah - then I recommend this strawberry - it is distinctly close to a real strawberry hookah taste
Mobster US e-liquid | Blackhat E-Cigarettes - Jacksonville, FL

For desserts - try a sampler at Good Life Vapor
My ADV is Deadly Sin from them - very tasty if you like bakery types :)

Creepy lady took the words right out of my mouth. Deadly Sin is also my favorite! Their "fairy" juices are also a good, different vape (absinthe, kind of like black licorice) which I find is a great palate-cleaner (or perhaps a good "switch-it-up" flavor) because it's very different than the bakery/fruits I normally use.

SVD, excellent unit. Very flexible in its battery configuration, can accept just about any 510 threaded or Ego Cone skirt attachment, so those options are broad. Word of warning though, it is heavy by itself completely empty as it is all stainless steel, but that weight is traded off for it makes it durable and resilient. I use 18650 batteries so it is a tall unit, even in single 18350, dual 18350 mode its tallest tube configuration it is gigantic in height alone without anything on it.

All that aside, as an intermediate APV unit, I have no bad things to say about it, it was worth every penny spent on it when I purchased mine and still use it to this day as my main at home and out and about unit when not at work, so you will enjoy it as it will open up a lot of new nuances to flavor and output your other devices have given you to date. Dial in your wattage output to your taste, after that no matter the attachment, once set, it is plug and play by itself without constant tweeking around. Currently using mine with a 3 ohm carto single coil in a tank at 8 watts output, remove that and put my protank at 2.2ohms it will still put out 8 watts as an example. Just remember you'll need at least 2 batteries for it, one charging, the other in use.

Juices, already a couple good suggestions above, others you can look at that are excellent juice vendors

Mount Baker Vapor out of Washington (State)
Mom and Pops Vapor shop
Heather's Heavenly Vapes
Miss T's Vapor
Backwoods Brew

All are good juice vendors.

Good luck and enjoy your vaping journey, welcome to the community =)

I did a similar route,Blu, to Ego,to Vamo,to PROVARI. You will get there grasshopper. Do not attempt the Provari purchase,if you are still smoking Cigs. In order to rationalize this purchase to your better half, you must be Cig free. "What should I go back to smoking Cigs? I need a device that I can depend on,one that won't leave me stranded." You may quote me. I have been smoke free for 2 1/2 yrs. I would do the hookah and not feel guilty. Hookah and some mint tea.

Thank you everybody for your insight and recommendations. (rubbing chin) And here I thought I may have known a little more than I actually do. Yet learning (and eventually sharing) will be the fun part as I know this will be a hobby.

I'm definitely going to be doing some "sampler" shopping for e-juice. The "Top Vapor", while not horrible, isn't great. That could also be partly from using the Vea and the "Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer (3.5ml)" from Mad Vapes.

Thank you again and I will definitely be reading, learning and trying the recommendations posted above.

I'm just a little older kid than you are. For one, don't beat yourself up for sneaking an analog smoke. I did one or two in the morning and bummed one from a friend a few days back when I ran out without my e-cig! No harm, no foul as I was smoking 20-25 analogs a day and have had HALF that number in 2 weeks! See. The goal is to trash the old cigs. Don't discount what a fiend told me too: Your body can crave those nasty chemicals that are in analogs in addition to the nicotine - disgusting as it sounds.

I'm so new to vaping, but look at my situation: I've NOT smoked 14 packs of analogs since I discovered vaping a couple of weeks ago. Nice :)

Welcome James, you found the right place to get all your answers. I started with GreenSmoke.. I think it was over $100.00 for a couple of batteries and a 5 pack of cartos. Then a miracle happened.. I found the 808's at $60.00 for two. I think we all started with disposables or 808's.. The advent of tanks, better batteries, flavors, etc. has come a long way. Even so, I have just got myself a Pro 2 tank and it's the first one that has not leaked on me. But the abundance of options out there will make your head spin. I am just using the Ego twist and the Pro Tank 2 now. Works perfectly well for me.. I would recomend organic non China juice.. Lot's of good ones out there. I have been buying from Todd at Vaperite.com for a couple of years.. He is a good guy and has a solid line of juices.
