Is it just me or are commercials getting increasingly irritating? almost every single one now contains some type of shrill, repetitive or annoying element.

this one has been driving me up the bleeping wall. its beyond annoying and offends all of my senses-





my 2nd most annoying one is a new mcdonalds commercial with a woman yelping "mcdonaaaaalds" in a pitch that goes straight to my bowels like south park's "brown noise".

And to think i pay 50 bucks a month for the privilege of watching commercials. That's going to be ending soon.

I guess I tune them out (and I usually watch TCM, which doesn't have any during the movies).

One that I love is "the pen is mightier than the sword" -- it has a ninja wielding a sword facing an unarmed man. The man receives a package (the same size and shape as most of my vaping supplies come in), signs for it (the pen part), and pulls out of the package what looks like a really wicked mod, which he points at the ninja to zap him.

I couldn't tell you who the commercial is for, but that part is a riot no matter how many times I see it.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Commercials have been annoying since the days of radio.

The latest round of "LG" appliance commercials chap my .... They work in sleigh bells and other Christmas-y sounds.

And if our front-load washer had water all the way to the top of the round window, I'd be calling a repair person. Clothes will NOT get clean that way in a front-loader.

Can't be any worse than Earl Scheib in his old age - that hoarse clarion of 'Riiiiiiiiight' at the end still makes me shiver with loathing.

Some time in the early 80s, our cable service added a couple of NY stations to our channel lineup, (WWOR and WPIX, if I recall correctly). That's when I saw my first "Crazy Eddie's" commercials. I'd never seen anything like them before, and I found them hugely entertaining.
