But even you must admit that feral pets are highly destructive to the natural order of things, its a problem you and I have discussed on another forum and we both have agreed that sometimes pet lovers are part of the problem, they refuse to see the forest
through the trees and worry about their type of pet solely to the exclusion of all the other animals in nature. Besides, a nice Irish Setter or Persian coat would look good on me!!!

<--j/k!!!!
We have Ripple and I can't disagree that it is a problem. But then "man" is the biggest
threat to the natural order. What I disagree with is where the true blame lies. It isn't pet lovers who are the problem. A true pet lover would not let their animals out to stray to begin with. There are too many dangers out there if you truly love your pet. Let alone without them being neutered or spayed. Of course they are going to mate. It is a vicious cycle Ripple. One where the animal always pays the price for uncaring and stubborn people. By stubborn I mean those who insist it is okay to let there animals roam. I should add stupid to that list for the ones who think that since it is a male cat, it can do no harm since it can't get pregnant. And those are "pets". But it is often "pets" that create the feral cats of the future. People toss out the females when they are pregnant but who was the idiot to not have it spayed and not keep it in the house. I do realize that at times an animal will get out without the owners knowledge and it becomes a "lost" pet but most often that is not the case. Again it is always the animal who pays the price. That includes birds that are killed by "pets" that are allowed to roam.
Farms are a huge problem and I don't care if I piss off every farmer in the world when I say it. Very few farmers have their supply of cats neutered or spayed. So what the he** does anyone think is going to happen? Start forcing farmers to spay and neuter and that would be a huge start. I don't even care if they get a tax deduction or credit to offset the cost. The main reason they have them is for rodent control. Maybe it could be a cost of doing business. Really Ripple, the condition most farm cats live in is inhumane. Not all, but most. Over populated, underfed and sick. Of course they are going to roam. And of course they are going to kill and eat anything they can. They are hungry. So who is to blame there?
An Irish Setter coat?

Now you don't like Irish Setters either?
Oh............there is a hawk flying around looking for a meal as I write this. A red tail. Beautiful........but still a
predator. They aren't overpopulated though since we have managed to kill off a great number of them.
