You know if I see something that sticks in my craw I can't keep quiet.......:oops:

I was listening to Kev's show on VPLive last night and he had the dude that's arranging some big vapemeet in Texas during the heat of the summer in Dallas. That sucks bad enough but his plan for admission prices was ridiculous and divisive IMHO -- there are going to be 3 levels of tickets for admittance to the event!!! A simple ticket was $20 for the 2 day event (He said 3 but the first day is just a party) and a VIP package would be $75!!! 8-o Yeah, if you're a VIP you get access to the hospitality room, too......

Frakking ridiculous, nothing like some class division amongst the vapers -- and people ripped spikey for the same stuff at vapefest......

I wonder how much they are charging vendors?

I feel the vendors should pay a modest fee according to how many tables they need. You could even charge vendors a bit more for prime locations.

That alone should pay for the venue. Charging people an entry fee will just ensure fewer people. If you want to charge for raffle tickets, that would be different.

He said there would be entertainment.....I'm hoping for some stri....., ummm, I mean, clean, wholesome family fun!!!! ;)

NAh, I don't like it, not one bit but now I'm wondering if I'm the only one who has a problem with it.......

I wonder if the "entertainment" will be included in the basic admission, or if that's the justification for the second tier.

I know I am naive, but at the single vapemeet I've attended, everyone seemed quite satisfied with being entertained by the camaraderie of other vapers.

I've known a few people who've organized conventions for fun (not-for-profit) and worked with a couple of people who organized conventions to capitalize on something popular (for profit). In all cases, the vendor fees covered expenses and the gate was the profit. The only exception was a non-profit convention that had an admission fee because there were no vendors--and excess money from the admission was divided up among the speakers and workshop presenters...

I've heard of modest fees when the vendor support/commercial sponsorship was less than expected, but having tiered admission fees makes it obvious that profit is a motive.*

* As I understand it, Spikey's intention was to roll the profit back into another not-for-profit venture, but the point was still to generate more money than was spent.

Thanks, CJ -- but look, God has made his choice clear!!!

Airheads, the movie -- watch it....:)

Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister called Mitt Romney a "monster." Lemmy Kilmister, frontman of English rockband Motorhead, came out against Mitt Romney in a big way.

"Please, please don't vote for Mitt Romney," Kilmister said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "F--- him. Repeal abortion law is the first thing he'll do. F---ing monster."

Kilmister is known for being outspoken and brash, openly talking about everything from his sex life to his general disdain for politics across the board.

On Obama, the heavy metal rocker said, "I mean, the poor f---er's only just gotten rid of all that George Bush s--- that he left, or is trying to. And he's being stonewalled by the f---ing Congress all the time. I don't know how he's gotten anything done."

EDIT:
ooops yup after checking google....
copied from dictionary page ....

"gypped...
Used as a term to describe when one has received less than they paid for. Most people do not realize it's a racist term that stems from nomadic 'gypsies' who are stereotyped as theiving criminals. "

Oh no ! did not mean to be racist
