There are times when I'll take a vape every 10 seconds depending on what I'm doing. Usually after I get mad I chain vape back to back 5 or 6 or times to calm down. Other times, I'll vape and not pick it back up for 5 or 10 minutes. If I get the head rush or my stomach gets upset I stop for a while until I'm feeling normal again. Your body lets you know when you need it. Surprised your husband is complaining about it, he needs a hobby :p For what it's worth, my dad chain vapes for about a minute. Then stops for 10 minutes or so. Just like he did when he smoked cigarettes.

My parents don't even care, but my mom is like Herb's haha. I'm her only child, but not my dad's only. She doesn't like me vaping as much, but she wants to come over and clean, cook, do my laundry. More so to spend time with me so I suck it up and let her help with dinner. House is always spotless anyways.

Vape whenever you need to to not smoke. If you're getting too much nic, your body will tell you; and then the solution is lower nic juice, not less vaping. In addition to the nic cravings, I believe there is a psychological component to the smoking addictiin, involving the hand to mouth motion. You probably need that too. When you first quit, you'll be vaping a lot trying to fight the demon. It eases off later.

my husband thinks that, according to his research, I am using the vape device too much. How much is too much? Is there a recommended time between vapes? I know there are no silly questions but this one might make some of you giggle.

I vape 20-25 times a day. Sometimes I'll take only 8 or 10 puffs and then go back in minutes, not hours.
If you are non-stop, it might be sensible to go up a level with the Nicotine strength.

I agree with this. You need to listen to what your body is telling you. You quit cigarettes, but your body/mind still "need" the nicotine. The only too much is if you get "nic sick".

The number of puffs per hour/day/whatever are irrelevant, it's the amount of e-liquid you're going through.

We've got folks that go through a few mililiters a day, some that blast through 30 ml a day. It's right for them, it's what's keeping them off cigarettes. Honestly, that's all that matters.

Yep, exactly -- whatever is right for YOU! And if you're vaping what feels like a comfortable amount, but getting a little nauseous, jittery, stomach pains, then the nic is too high for your frequency of vaping -- I had that at first, really bad, because I needed to puff pretty constantly to head off thoughts of smoking, so I had to go to 6mg so I didn't feel sick. Later when the cigarettes were completely gone, I had to go up a little, but never have gone over 10mg, which I vaped for nearly a year; now I'm down to 5.3mg, and soon will be at 5mg, where I'll park for a while. Doubt I'll go lower, unless my body indicates that it needs less.

But whatever your body requires to stay happily away from cigarettes, that's just what you should do, and hang what anyone else thinks or says about it.

Almost 5 years as a vapor, I can go pretty much all day without vaping if im occupied, but give me any free time and im chain vaping like a fiend lol. My nic is low, 4-5mg. seems my addiction is/was mainly the smoking act itself so I lowered my nic to keep puffing.

2- 21/2, sometimes even 3 PAD, for over 30 years, and even on the heaviest days vaping I still feel 100x better then my average day smoking.

And im not a tootler by any means if you bump into any of my vids youll see the kinda chain vaping I do lol.

If your gear is working correctly and efficiently (within its design) your body will let you know when you get to much, be it congestion, irritation, headachs, insomnia etc etc.

Until that point my house perpetually looks like its on fire.

Vape it, enjoy it!

Like everything else in life, I think it is up to each individual what they WANT for themselves.

For most of us, that involves some notion of not going on automatic pilot, ie. if that were true many of us would be as big as a house from eating stuff all the time that would put on weight, for instance.

When I was smoking, i never wanted to smoke more than a pack a day. There was a certain amount of "consciousness shifting" that I had to do in order to meet that goal, i.e. put my mind on other things and make other things more of a habit than smoking.

With vaping, I just knew in advance that I did not want to use my PV like I was tied to a ball and chain.

So, I also knew that I would have to develop habits around my habit. I leave it on the counter and when I feel the urge I go over and use it. Stuff like that. I knew I didn't want to use and inhale more than X amount of vapor, so I chose equipment that allowed me to stay w/in a certain boundary of ml.

All this is just about deciding what you want for yourself, then committing to it.

If most people acted on every impusle they had at any moment of the day, their lives would spin rapidly out of control. Impulse control is something most adults, unlike small children, learn how to do, because in order to remain even socially appropriate or keep a job, it is pretty much a requirement of life.

So, I guess the answer to your question is how much is too much for YOU, how much do YOU want to commit to using your device, do you want it in your hand 24/7 or do you wish to develop a different vaping profile?

THERE IS NO RIGHT ANSWER to this, by the way. Only what is right for you. And not something your husband can dictate.

However, sometimes, it is instructive to listen to what loved ones say. Because sometimes, they NOTICE stuff that you don't.

I used to swear and I wasn't real "conscious" of how many times a day I did use those words..it had become a habit. When my loved ones pointed it out to me, I realized it might be something to *work on*. So, I did. I still use curse words but only in very extreme situations. It's the same with speech patterns, one of my friends uses that word "like" too much, and she had to make a conscious effort to lace her vocabulary with better choices. :)

I think it is pretty normal for MOST humans to fall into what I call "lazy patterns" and if there is something about some of those we don't like then we have the power to change them.

Vape as much as you feel you need to.

I don't know about that , why would she risk her life when her husband can be lurking around any corner , that would be extremely dangerous imo.

Vaping out in the open is way too risky but if she decides to do it anyway and throw caution into the wind i would recommend she carry a loaded firearm on her at the very least with the capability of extreme knockdown power.

You ever see the carnage of what a wounded Cape Buffalo or Rhino can do , it's not good , not good at all .

Dealing with an irate husband in close quarters can be just as dangerous . She may have to engage in an all out brawl to the death if she wants to continue hitting on that e cig .

Whatever works for you is what works. When I first got started I was chain-vaping 18mg. Went through a lot of weeks of restless sleep, etc. Figured I was getting too much nic, but the old hand-to-mouth habit was there since I had gone cold turkey on the cigs when I started (on a business trip). I leveled out later with 12mg and the nights got more restful. I have, for the most part, remained a mouth-to-lung vaper so my intake is about 10ml+ a day. Sometimes I'll chain vape, other times I won't touch it for an hour or two. I mostly work out of a home office so the ability to vape any time is there - so I do. If it works, it works. Don't sweat how much you vape as long as it keeps you off smokes.

I know I vape more often than I smoked....... I also know it costs me less than half as much and I am using the same amount or less juice a day than I did last year. But when I smoked I took more hits off a cigarettes in five minutes than I do from the vape in an hour. Couple hits here and there might look like "more", but I'm don't know if it really is "more" than 1 or 2 cigarettes worth of imitating a chimney for ten minutes at a time.
