No, they will work with the starter kit he selected, which was the EXO, those are EXO coils. The OP added a MTL tank to that which should fit just fine on his box mod. OP, you'll need to order coils for the N2 tank (Aspire BVC Nautilus coils, which come in ranges of 1.8, 1.6 and 0.7, the 1.6 is my particular favorite) you can buy those separately but there isn't a rush and you may want to try vaping both coils that come with the N2, the 1.8 and the 0.7, to see which coils you prefer, before getting more (you don't have to wait for one coil head to die before trying the other, you can switch them out whenever, and just dry off and place in a plastic bag somewhere until you are ready to use it again) and that should give you plenty of time to decide which coils you like better and buy a supply. Best of luck!

I’m a noob, so I know how confusing this gets. I read what jwbnyc and Anna said about coils, and they are both right. But I thought I might just clarify what they both mean. The evo coils you ordered fit the tank that comes with the kit. That’s fine if you are using the sub ohm evo tank.
However, if you are going to use the Nautilus 2 tank, you also need Aspire Nautilus BVC coils, which are different.

FWIW...

The NX75 is a higher quality mod (I hate saying that because I am not a fan of Aspire*)... I have one.
You can vape it almost any setting you like. I know some folk who vape MTL at 8-12 on it.
The EVO tank that mostly comes with it is quite a good tank for DTL vaping. I actually use the extended glass and Eleaf coils* because I can source Eleaf from China instead of being a slave to domestic coil buying (thanks Aspire). I wouldn't call it perfect but yes, it's an often-use tank for me.

Sadly, UK people are limited to 2ml tanks generally unless you want to import something larger.

I agree with @VictorViper about starting with 50/50 liquid. You'll get a bit more 'hit' with more PG.

I can't speak for the Nautilus 2 (not tried, won't buy) but if it's as good as the Nautilus 1 then happy days.

18mg is the most common highest strength liquid. 20mg in SALT e-liquid will do the job better but places that sell it are rare and some... well... you can guess.... they charge WAY too much.

E-liquid called 'Virginia' anything will taste quite strange. I smoked all that kind of rolling tobacco and tend to stick with either the dry tobaccos or the deliberately sweet ones like RY4.

That's it for now. I was glad to see you just went for it. :)

Hi Guys, thanks for the response's...

I have cancelled all the orders I made today... :)

I'm so confused now, I can't get my head around it all...

So what I would like is a good setup that emulates smoking, hold the vapour in mouth and inhale.

I'm willing to invest in the right/best setup X 2, it's not a problem... with all the spare parts I need. I don't mind purchasing different coils and mouth pieces to test.

Any chance someone could write me a list of what I need so I can purchase.

Sorry for being such a numpty...

Best

Oh no... you UN went for it!

Never mind.

My latest convert uses the Aspire Mod and the original mini Nautilus. Both are perfectly good items.

To be honest, if confusion is getting you.. um.. confused... then just get the Zelos kit. It's £49.99 from the official Aspire shop (not that I would...)

I know absolutely nothing about the whole setup, what to buy and the best quality liquid to purchase.
Welcome and glad you joined.
Refreshing to find someone who has vaped before and admits their still a novice. Thanks for your vape self evaluation pluck. The information below will help to give you a firm foundation. If you live by a Brick and Mortar Vape Store, might pop in and convey your wishes. In starting out, read knowledge is good to know, however, I find hands on really cements the learning process. Your getting pretty good suggestions in this thread, hopefully, your on your way.

Although this forum is international, the vast majority of members are USA. I bring this up because a lot of the recommendations given here "may not" be available to you in the UK, especially e-liquid recommendations. You could introduce yourself in the UK Forum and inquire where those members shop for gear and e-liquids.

I've been vaping for several years, and at one time worked in a vape shop. Although I used to be a "tootle puffer" (low wattage power, higher ohm coils) initially, in the last couple of years I've become a moderate wattage (30 watts), sub-ohm (0.5 ohm coils) vaper. My current setup is below. I consider it a reasonably-priced, high-end setup:

Google Images photo

If you like the form factor of above setup but don't wish to sub-ohm, you could use an Aspire Nautilus clearomizer tank or Kabuki-styled clearomizer tank to mouth-to-lung vape. These two tanks use the same Nautilus coils (1.6 or 1.8 ohm).

You're probably going to feel like you are getting Information Overload , but don't worry...we all started out that way. Just read up on the basics before you buy and if you have any questions feel free to ask the membership here. For the basics, I hope that you find the articles in my blog to help you:

If *I* were actually in the U.K. I would look more in depth at all of Jac Vapours products. I use a Jac Vapour Series B DNA 75 as my power device and I love, love, love it. They have a variety of devices and many seem very beginner friendly.

I know nothing about other mods that I don’t own except what I read.
I used the T22 for a few months. Loved it, it’s simple and the tanks are great. Just a fire button. There is one drawback. It’s fixed at 14 watts, which doesn’t match up with everyone’s taste. Since I’ve been vaping for almost 3 months, I thought it was time to move up a bit. I got the Zelos kit. It’s now one that I use frequently. I use my T22 tank on it because it’s bigger. But since your country regulates to 2ml, the Nautilus 2 is perfect for you. To start, all you have to do is go into wattage mode and adjust the wattage to your liking, then lock it. The screen flips both ways. Battery life is great. Don’t need batteries or battery charger. Can pick between 1.6 and 1.8 coil I believe.

To do this, you order the Aspire Zelos 50W kit, which comes with N2 tank. Only other thing is Aspire Nautilus BVC coils in either 1.6 or 1.8 Ohms. ( Don’t get confused. There are I think also Aspire BVC coils. Must say Aspire Nautilus BVC coils on box.)
Then you’re done. Don’t let the 50w name scare you. I vape MTL at 8.5-11 watts with it.
This device also has the flexibility to progress if your style and taste changes. Just my two cents.

If I were to select one beginner's setup, I'd probably go with the zelos 50 watt mod, it's easygoing, it has an internal battery, and at the wattages you'll be starting at, it should be good to go, fully charged, for a workday, etc. If you want to start MTL the zelos comes as a starter kit with the Nautilus 2, and it's a very nice setup that way, I have the aspire zelos 75 (that does TC, also, supposedly, I haven't been impressed with it so far) as my backup mod as it's portable, light, and easy going. You won't need an external charger, you'll be charging via USB, which in my mind is not a dreadful thing, considering this will be your first setup. I mean, if you find you want more vapor, less MTL type vaping, you can always go with a boxmod at that point.

So basically, you need the aspire zelos starter kit (50 or 75, I got the 75 mainly for better battery life) and you need some Nautilus BVC coils-- they come in 1.8, 1.6 and 0.7 boxes. If it were me and I could get coils quickly, I'd try both the Nautilus BVC coils and then order whichever ones you like best (I actually like the 1.6 coils best but they don't come with the N2) but I actually like all the coils for different reasons, and there's no harm in using either, you'll just be adjusting wattage and airflow, probably. The lower the resistance, the higher the wattage (usually) and the 1.8 is a much tighter draw than the 0.7, but that coil does get great flavor and I like it for coil life. As always, I am then using more battery life, and more juice, LOL, but it all seems to even out in the wash....

Lastly, you will need some juices. Most people starting out may choose a 50/50 mix of VG/PG, but it can be flexible. For example, I am sensitive to PG and have to use Max VG but I've found ways to make that work. Otherwise, PG is a thinner vape but tends to offer more throat hit, and is a flavor carrier, while VG produces more "clouds" with less throat hit, and sometimes less flavor-- most folks find their sweet spot easily.

Wattage range on the coil is printed in tiny letters on the coil. For starting, fill your tank with juice after you've installed a coil (one may come preinstalled) and let it sit for 10--15 minutes, taking long slow priming puffs to draw juice into the wick (don't hit the fire button!) then slowly start increasing your wattage while taking puffs until you reach a satisfying wattage, which MAY be below the "recommended" on your coil, which is fine, just don't go ABOVE recommended resistance.

I don't know how TPD regulations affect tasting juices, but you can purchase small amounts of flavors to see what kinds you like.

Don't worry, it's easy to get confused, but it's not super hard. You only need your starter kit, (if you run into issues, post questions here or look for a YouTube demo/review video) some coils, and some juice. Easy!

Best of luck,
Anna

Hi Again,

Great advice, I will have a read of all the links tonight.

I have some time so I am going to my local vape shop tomorrow, these are the kits that they sell below.

They do lots of mods and stuff (the vapecig . co .uk) minus the spaces.

Hopefully I might have a better understanding with some hands on time tomorrow.

I'll bring my Ipad and show them this thread so they know what i'm after.

I'm going to buy a kit tomorrow as my deadline is Saturday for giving up the fags.

I think its going to take a couple of weeks if not more to get a understanding of the world of vaping.

I can't thank you guys enough for your help, you have been very helpful with your knowledge even though I cant get my head around it all.

On a separate note, when no one is at home, is it safe to vape indoors say 2 hours before my kids get home or do I still go outside every time. It's no bother because I haven't smoked indoors for over 14 years since I met my wife. Just curious as I don't want to harm my children or wife.

I cant wait.....

Best

Rob

The key takeaway here: it's a LOT of information, particularly once you start comparing gear, but it's all very simple information. The trick will be parsing it all.

IMO there is no substitute for a (good) vape shop when starting out. The right first product is the one that works, so stay frugal, try what you can, and then anticipate a more informed, long-term and growable setup shortly down the road.

Safe? I'd think so. I don't think there's been a reputable study showing that second hand vape is harmful. But, you'll have to ask your family members if it bothers them. For example my (smoking) husband claims that there is a "smell" in the house that he is not supremely fond of, I find it unlikely that he can really smell any trace vape as a smoker, when I can't really smell anything different. I think it's psychosomatic :) Some folks are more tolerant of the vape smells than others.

I don't think there would be any vape left in the "air" though I suppose it's possible that there may be a lingering smell of some sort. IDK. I'm considering taking up only vaping outside as a) it will reduce my chainvaping tendencies and b) I'm used to smoking outside in the bright sunshine at least once an hour. I'm trying to increase my outdoors time so that my circadian rhythm doesn't go nuts (we have "Arizona prison ironwork bars" on every freaking window in the house) as I like to call it, and it really doesn't allow almost any sunlight in the house. Since I've had a run of health problems, I've been at home for a while, and I was really noticing a difference in my energy level, so I've been trying to get more sunlight, which seems to be working.... It's so hard to figure out these things!

But, if your vape doesn't bother anyone, I don't think there are HEALTH reasons to always vape outdoors.... I'm not a scientist though, just a random person on the internet. I would talk to your wife about it and see what she thinks. While I was still a SMOKER though, my son sub0hmed these dreadful citrus/menthol concoctions, in the car, and they got me gagging, even as a smoker, though he tended to blow clouds similar to the ones Micheal Phelps did, and I still let him vape in the car, because I was trying to be tolerant, LOL. So, it may depend on your ejuice, but if you aren't actively vaping around the kiddo, I'd think it would be fine.

The state of California just did some air quality testing in vape shops where employees and customers were actively vaping and didn't find anything in the air that concerned them, and this was in spaces foggy with vape. I'm not worried about my smaller volume vapor in the house around my kids. If anything I'm better with my kids now that I don't sneak outside to smoke.
