Completely New... Suggestions?

I had been hearing about e-cigarettes for about a year now but have always LOVED smoking so wasn't really interested. Over the weekend on the long drive back from the beach I stopped to get a carton of ciggys and saw Smoke Stiks... I had extra vacation savings left over and always like a good gadget, thought they would be a novel toy and bought a starter kit and 5 pack of cartomizers. I wasn't instantly convinced... the first day was a little rough but I stayed the course and fell in love! That was on Sunday and since I've only smoked one pack of the cigarettes from the carton I bought (averaged 1.5 packs per day before, for nearly 8 years!) and have smoked NONE in the past 48 hours.
I have already ordered a USB charger, carrying case, 25 more cartomizers(menthol) and 2 pink Smoke Stik batteries (love pink!)... Once those get in I am giving my premium batteries and regularly wall charger to my MIL along with a pack of full flavor cartomizers I ordered her.
I'm really excited to not smell like cigarettes anymore and to be able to stay inside when it snows...
Where do I go from here?? Anything else I need?

Congrats and welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are off to a good start with your new toy. Keeping a couple of extra batteries on hand wouldn't be a bad idea and you might want to try refilling those cartomizers with some of the fantastic juices available.

I like goodprophets.com for juice. Their VG menthol is really crisp and clean. Check out the reviews in the GP forum.

To refill the SS cartos, you'll nee to put on the batt conector cap and pry off the white plastic tip. I use needle nose tweezers. Then the are two silicone rings and a small flat filter that needs to be removed. Then tilt the carto to a 45* angle, drip a couple drops down the side of the carto insides, turn the carto slightly and drip a couple drops etc...until the filler looks "slushy". No need to put the rings or filter back in, just the white cap. Then wipe off the threaded end, cover the mouth piece w/ a paper towel and blow through the threaded end of the carto and your good to go. It isn't hard once you get it down to a science.

BTW, I usually pull the rings and filter before I use a fresh carto, sometimes they are saturated and you end up w/ juice in your mouth.

but a few weeks ago i tried their Fire & Ice (combination atomic fireballs and menthol) and am TOTALLY hooked. been vaping 30ml/week of it. needless to say, i have stocked up. so good that i forget to eat and dont want to sleep..yes that good.

Thank you so much! The last bit is an awesome tip... I've been vaping with a tissue near by as after using a cartridge for about half a day I've had lots of juice dripping out and it's a little uncomfortable with the menthol burning sensation.

Any tips on knowing when to stop on a carto? I've never had a lack in vapor or taste but all the sudden (after about a full day of using it) mine starts tasting burnt and the juice dripping out is brown tinged... this is the only way I know to switch and assume for refilling this wouldn't be great as the burnt flavor would stay.

You'll start to notice a "dry" taste before it gets burnt. It just takes a little time to get to know the signs.

This way you can remove the plastic cap and just use the drip tip instead and refill without having to fool with the plastic cap. You can fill the cartomizer through the hole in the drip tip. Many suppliers sell cheap drip tips if you want to try one.

Nope, SS are RN4081 compatable. Also, being that it is an auto batt, that is a bad way to refill them. You'll end up w/ juice in the batt which will kill it.

I can tell when a carto needs to be refilled when I have to drag harder, it has less vapor and flavor, and it starts to "feel" dry (something you get used to after using them for a few days). After vaping constantly for two or three hours, it's usually time to throw it in the "to be filled" container and grab one that has been refilled.

I'm taking notes (for serious, I'm a note taker) and will hopefully get the hang of everything soon.
Now, any tips on not being an idiot? LOL
A charged battery has been lasting my entire daily commute (an hour each way) and work day (8 hours) plus a couple hours in the evening so I've just been bringing the smokestik assembled and throwing an extra carto in my purse and things have been working just fine. Yesterday evening when I got home I switched my battery out and went on as usual... this morning I forgot to make the switch and by 10:00 (an hour into my work day) I was dead in the water... at 11:30 I broke down and smoked a cigarette... am now stinky and discouraged.
I am in general forgetful... it's nothing unusal for me to leave important things at home (case in point the reading material I HAD to have for a project due today that is currently laying on my couch an hour away)...
Any suggestions for lessening the impact my forgetfulness will have on my overall vaping experience without spending a ton on multiples of everything right away? Hubby is excited about the switch but not so much excited about the $250 I've spent on my new habit in 5 days so I need to wait a bit before anymore shopping With smoking if I left my cigs laying I had tons of places I could stop for replacements, so I was out 5 minutes and $6 max if I needed a new lighter as well...

I found it helpful to keep my stuff in a case: e-cig Case
because I can just glance at it and if every little pocket isn't full, then I know I forgot something.

Plus I happen to have an extra charger, so I got an adapter to make it a car charger and I keep it in my car along with my old 510 batteries (which I never use anyway now that I have an eGo) and a couple of cartomizers.

I use one of these: PADDED MINI-POUCH | AllElectronics.com It fits a full eGo batt/eGo mega atty/cart ready to go. It will easily hold two SS batts and two cartos(maybe some juice too). Can't beat the price at $0.50.
