Firstly, there is no stupid question, only stupid actions brought on by not asking questions first! lol!
You can not use just any cartomizer. Firstly you have to know what threading your battery takes. It probably takes either 510 threading (male end) or 808 threading (female end) Secondly you have to get a cartomizer with the right ohms for your battery. Most mini ecigs are about 280 mAh's which means you need somewhere around 2.0-3.2 ohm cartomizers. Do not use dual coil for those small batteries as they are not recommended. Happy vaping! And Welcome to ECF!

I am trying to smoke e cigs as they seem safer and less expensive than the pack and a half I smoke daily. I bought a cheap model at a gas station it has a battery, chargers, and cartomizers. The most inportant question I have is can I take any empty cartomizer and fill it with liquid?

Most, if not all, cartomizers can be refilled. Here's a little help for you.

filling 808 - YouTube.

And what Kay1959 said is also correct.

Happy vaping. :)

Yes you can refill those cartomizers with liquid. You may find, though, that you will quickly get tired of constantly recharging that small battery. Do yourself a favor and get a KGO kit KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

KGO batteries are 1100mah and will last you almost two days before needing to be recharged. You'll also need cartomizers (the atomizers that come in the kit are junk). Boge 2.0ohm LR 510 cartomizers 5 pack
These are empty cartos so you'll also need juice to fill them up. You'll be a whole lot happier with a set up like this one and in the long run, is much cheaper than your gas station equipment.

Congrats on getting an e-cig and welcome to ECF! There are so many options when it comes to e-cig models, but the only ones I've seen widely available in retail store (department store, gas stations, etc.) are the mini-type, that look similar in size and shape to a cigarette. I think many people get turned off of e-cigs because they think these are the only models available, or that the pre-filled cartridges are the only flavors available. You should definitely go back out the new members forum and browse the sticky notes. There is a ton of great information about differently models of e-cigs, what cartridges go with what, how to use them, etc.

Welcome Rayay - as others have mentioned there is no such thing as a stupid question! Congrats on your decision to ween yourself off the analogs. Since your original question regarding refilling the cartomizers has been answered, I just want to add that everyone's experience is different - it is NOT necessarily true that you will tire of using a small battery. There are many of us who have been using PVs for a number of years who started with mini eCigs - took the advise of so many here on ECF about getting the monster batteries only to learn, after spending way too much money on eGos, Rivas, KGos, Variable Voltage and others sorts of APVs, that we prefer the cigarette style batteries.

The bestt to you!

Hi Rayay, welcome to ECF and congrats on kickin' the stinkies to the curb. I've lost count of how many people have seen me vaping and said" oh that's that vaping scam"...always turns out they bought one of the Mall ecigs and after seeing and trying my Ecig the look on their face is PRICELESS. As for filling any carto yes you can BUT if you purchase more cartos you have to be sure they are the same "connection" as your Ecig...510, 808, etc. If you do buy a new Ecig a very good quality starter kit should only cost around $40.00.
Good Luck and Happy Vaping.

I agree with you on people thinking e-cigs are not worth the money or effort as they have heard or tried the scams. I tried them a couple of years ago and quickly gave them up. Today's e-cigs are so much different and better! I just let people give me the wierd looks while I enjoy. Once the see the amount of vapor, they are usually sold that things are better with a reputable brand/equipment.
