I have a USB pass through coming in the mail...and was just noticing the pile of old computers gathering dust in my garage.

Had an idea to mod them into a compact mini-computer/Pass through power supply. Something I can take up stairs, maybe play a game...watch a movie... puff puff...

Just wondering if anyone out there has done something similar.. if a thread already exists, I apologize and would appreciate a linky... would be interested in seeing what people have come up with and problems encountered.

And if not, I'd love to see what forumites here built.

Here is a link to the Hellraiser case mod... its pretty small would be easily moved around..not a big Hellraiser fan, but always thought this would be kind of a cool idea for a USB slave for my PassThrough.

Running a passthrough off one of the 5v rails would work perfectly, you don't even need anything but a powersupply in the case, just rig your passthru to use a molex connector instead of USB.

Just make sure that you plug it into the 5v rail that is supplying at least 3A, some micro atx supplies only provide 2A to a few of the 5v plugs.
